Zack: True, but I’m your idiot
It has been a rocky and awkward time, after Sephiroth called down the Meteor. Making the active choice of choosing to reach out to him, he couldn’t let his past feelings get in the way. He was the last connection to his old life, so he couldn’t dismiss him. Keeping contact with him through text messages, getting on his motorcycle as he would head towards the location that Sephiroth gave him.
It took them an hour since he brought some lunch with him and some drinks on the way. Being a delivery boy, had it’s perks since he was tired of fighting. Knocking on Sephiroth’s door, with a box with food on top of it. “I have a delivery for Sephiroth” He said as he wanted to have a little fun with Sephiroth.

Emerald orbs gloss over when raven locks enter her field of view. Aerith manages a weak smile that is tainted with the crimson that stains her skin. A weak breath, one that trembles in her throat before she coughs.
“Hey there…”
Her voice is soft, eyes momentarily closing as pain strikes through her body.
“Didn’t think…You’d make it in time”

Zack smiled sadly, carefully cradling Aerith. "You know me, I arrive when you need me the most. I'm sorry that I wasn't there to stop him" He said, putting his white wing around her.
"It's okay, I'm going to be alright. You can return to the planet. Say hello to your mother for me, I promise I won't keep waiting too long"

“with me?” She teases softly, nudging him carefully. “Well…maybe we can get your grades up so you qualify again! I could…help ya know?” Aerith offers softly, returning his smile. “You know, you shouldn’t push yourself so hard though.”
Zack smiled softly and it was nice to have some hope. “You been helping me so much already. As long it doesn’t take away from your study time, I don’t want your grades to fall because of me.” He said, mostly because he didn’t want to be burden. He knew when to ask for help, “I know, I just wanted to prove to myself that I can get through college.”
“Let you go? Why would I ever do that, my boy?” Hojo frowned at him. “Why, if I gave you use of your hands, you’d just try to escape. There’s no need for that, not in my lab.”
The scientist placed his glasses back onto his face, smiling in a manner that anyone who wasn’t him would find unsettling. But why wouldn’t he smile? This was a wonderful scientific discovery, spread out right before him with the sole purpose of being explored.
Zack sighed it was worth a shot, looks like he had to wait to escape. He worried about Cloud, there was nothing he could do at the moment. That smile did nothing to ease his worries or make him feel any less afraid of him. If only he could think clearly enough to get out of this situation. Maybe this is why Aerith was running away from Shinra, she didn’t want to be subject to this nightmare.
“Alright, what do you plan on doing with me. I’m sure someone is bound to have missed me.”
“Yeah that sounds fun, though I have been practicing and getting at shooting a gun. Swords are my style but it doesn’t hurt to learn something new. Afterwards we can get something to drink. The honeybee Club makes be uncomfortable, Andrea keeps hitting on me”
Zack trying to ease his breathing, feeling a panic attack coming on. Closing his eyes shut, trying to convince himself that he is safe. Though he doesn’t exactly believe it. Though he managed to even his breathing enough for the Wing to ease around him. He is a survivor and he is going to survive this, “Well I got what is wish for” He said to himself, but he wondered if this makes him monster. He refuses to continue that line of thought, turning to look at Hojo.
“You found what you were looking for, Angeal’s wings were white too, can you please let me go. At least give me use of my hands” He asked it was a wonder after that big scare, he made sentences.
Hojo remained silent, for this to work, he knew he had to put Zack through great turmoil. Explaining anything to him would significantly decrease the chances of this succeeding.
The scientist began to bring the knife down towards Zack’s shoulder, where what he was trying to provoke would be located. If nothing happened, then the SOLDIER would go through the unpleasant experience of a non-lethal stab through his flesh.
Something did happened, once the knife was about to come down on Zack’s shoulder. A white wing about the same size as Sephiroth wing, came out to wack Hojo in the face. Knocking him over and the knife out of his hand, the wing wrapping around Zack protectively.
Hojo can spot that Zack eyes briefly to dragon eyes, before they were back to normal, while his breathing was quick and labored. This gave him time to calm down, but he closed his eyes for a second only to picture himself. Anywhere but strapped to a table in a lab, like a test animal.

It sounded like Zack was working himself into burn out “Doesn’t that seem…like a lot?” She mumbles quietly, nibbling on her bottom lip. “If you’re too tired to go now, we don’t have to” She wanted to go, but it seemed rude to make Zack go out if he wanted to rest more. “No wonder you always need notes…”
Zack gave Aerith a reassuring smile “I want to go out, It’s a good change of pace” He did agree it was a lot but he couldn’t afford college without it. “Yeah, I had a scholarship, for about a year. I didn’t mean the requirements for Aid, so I been doing jobs so I can get through college”

Aerith takes his outstretched arm with ease, thankful that she has some sort of anchor to keep up with him. “Lead the way” She chimes up at him brightly, following with quick steps once he begins to walk. “You’re busy a lot huh?” She comments curiously, taking a peak up at him. “What else do you do?”
Zack smiled walking with Aerith on his arm. “Yeah, I work two jobs. On the weekend, I work as a pizza delivery boy. During the week, I work at a club. I make the drinks, I have the right personality for it. So it leaves little time for college classes and homework. I get homework done after I work the night shift, which causes me to fall asleep in class” He sighed as he looked embarrassed.

“Well….are things still hectic? I don’t want to inconvenience you” There was a moment of pause, hoping to get an answer until Zack spoke again. Her face lights up, smile wide. “That sounds great Zack.”
She looks back up to him, her cheeks lightly colored in a blush. “Wanna lead the way?”
Zack smiled softly “I’m going to take today off, since my manager has been bugging me to take some time off” He said holding out his elbow “Sure, It’s not a far walk from the campus. I just never had to time to try it out”
Zack: You are pretty cute when you are nice.
Aerith: What am I when I'm not nice?
Zack: Hot as fuck.

Aerith cheek’s brighten up when she hears his response, and she shifts slightly before taking away from his gaze. “No I…I want to go on a date with you” A small laugh, fingers tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear. “Seems like it took you long enough” A short huff “You’ve been copying my notes for two weeks”
Zack rubbed the back of his neck, as he was found out. "Well things have been hectic and I wanted to be able to make a good impression. Not the stressed out and exhausted me. " He sighed as he is nervous.
"I know a good burger place that you might like" He said as he could persuade Angeal to give him a night off. Since he has been saying that he needed a break.
