ur gonna disagree but i hate the recent rise in prongsfoot shippers,, personally that's a relationship that is very important to keep platonic as it affects their characters way too much and changes them to an unrecognizable point,, and their relationship as found brothers is way too interesting to be unnecessarily explained by romantic feelings/lust/etc. im personally not even a fan of them ever having had any sort of intimacy besides hugging (kissing/etc)
i do disagree, yes, sorry 😭
i...don't think having james and sirius be romantic changes their characters to an unrecognizable point, no more than remus and sirius being romantic does. if anything, james and sirius, through the lens of canon, kinda make more sense... like that's blasphemous to say, i know, i know, but like. if we're just looking at canon here, only the text and no subtext and no themes (i.e. the moon and stars etc etc), sirius and james were, like, inseparable. they had a two-way mirror for separate detentions. sirius was, quite frankly, rather obsessed with james 😭 and james was just as obsessed back. im just saying, there's absolutely room there for romantic connotations between them. if there is for wolfstar, then there is for prongsfoot. most people want to look at it as, like, idk incest? but they're not brothers. they were never brothers. sirius didn't go to the potters until he was 16, and he was out by the time he was 17, but always welcome to sunday lunch. sirius once tells james to put away his snitch, and james is like "if it bothers you" and just??? does it??? it's stated to give "the impression that sirius was the only one for whom james would stop showing off" like??? HELLO??? idk, like yes, the platonic aspect of their relationship IS very important, and i do agree with that, and i generally do just love them as platonic, but i don't personally find it unnecessary to have them be romantic either? like, best friends are in love sometimes. i have seen the light. i see it now. i get it. i just happen to prefer them as platonic and codependent!!! also, intimacy imo isn't always an indicator of romance. i think kissing platonically and even more should be accepted as normal!
(that does not mean, however, that ill never write them romantically, because i think i might someday)
