Hi! I’m AnonymousStory - you can call me Story, or Rain!

A place where I talk about stuff and write. This blog is mostly Bungou Stray Dogs and Trigun, and I'm also a long-time Hatoful Boyfriend fan! I also have an Ao3 and a Kofi page!

I do mostly analysis type stuff, so I've organized all of my personal thoughts and my occasional writing here for convenience. I think we forget sometimes that Trimax!Vash’s no-killing rule isn’t something he subscribes to blindly but rather a stance he’s put a lot of thought into.

In vol. 2, when Wolfwood says he can’t afford to mess around and gamble on others’ ability to change for the better, Vash tells him, “It’s not leisure, you know. That’s not it at all. It’s just… even though I’ve been thinking all along, I still don’t have the answers. That’s all.”

He knows that not everyone who’s offered a second chance will hop on the pacifism train. He knows some of them will continue to hurt others, whether out of desperation or selfishness. But he cannot condone killing as long as there is any chance that other methods of harm reduction might be viable.

And notably, when Wolfwood kills the shit out of Gray the Ninelives during the Ship Three attack in the next volume, Vash thanks him for it. He says, “Because you spilled blood, you saved all of these people’s lives. I couldn’t have done it without you,” and apologizes for making his feelings Wolfwood’s problem.

(Of course, this just pisses Wolfwood off more, because while he wants Vash to accept that violence is inevitable and sometimes a necessary evil, he doesn’t want to be forgiven/excused for it. He’s still ‘playing the role of the devil,’ and Vash talking like he’s done something heroic clashes with that self-image.)

It’s all really good set-up for the reveal in vol. 7 that the origin of his second-chance policy was Vash being forced at a young age to grapple with the simultaneous facts of Rem’s complicity in what was done to Tesla and her genuine, selfless love for the twins.

Vash nearly killed Rem before he could see the ‘proof’ that she’d changed; he and Knives fought about her death in the Fall because he had that ‘proof’ and Knives didn’t. So it makes complete sense that, as an adult, he’s against writing people off too quickly. Lack of ‘proof’ isn’t lack of potential to do/be better.

Aka you can't tell me how Yomiel, who basically didn't feel anything, from being cold or warm for 10 YEARS, that his tolerance to weather changes didn't weakened. Like, come on, that gotta be a bit overwhelming. I'd say this is his reaction to every new season(he has a love-hate relationship with summer tho, it burns his skin since it's not used to the sun--) he experiences the time he's finally free. I mean, he's just really happy that he's alive.

also yea, I know the minovember is technically over but due to some power issues I couldn't get anything done, but now that the light is a lil bit stable(and funny enough I also suddenly got a spark of motivations) end up doing another theme from week 1 which is this. I might make a few more of the others theme, but we'll see if I still get motivated.

Been reading howls moving castle lately and i do love how idgaf maxxing sophie is about. Everything. Learns her sisters swapped places bc one wanted to learn magic while the other wanted a family😐👍 gets turned into an old lady by the wicked witch of the waste😐👍 meets a fire demon and makes a contract w him before taking a nap on a cozy chair😐👍 learns shes a witch ans has been speaking magic into every hat she ever made😐👍 like i strive to give that little of a fuck. Which is contrasted to howl going on a neurotic spiral every two pages
