“Yeah I can show you how to make it if you want. I have all the ingredients back at my house down by the lake,” he says giving her a small smile back. “I’m not too much of a medic, but I can teach you a few recipes if you want to learn.”

“Just doing my job,” he says holding up his hands. “Name is Kai, I’m a guard here. Siren that can control all things water,” he says. “Anyways yours was the last spot I needed to check so now I’m off. What’s your name hammock woman?” he asks running his hands through his hair to smooth it back.

Kai had patted the boy’s shoulder trying to gain his attention.·“Just checking to see if you’re okay. You zoned out there for a while, you okay?” he asks checking him over for a quick second.·

“It’s a pretty neat place you guys have going on here.”
Kai looked over him and controlled a small bit of water to help wash him up before putting the water down the sink. “I don’t know if you heal fast or not, but I have some salve that can help patch those cuts in no time.”

“ I will sleep when things calm, “ she mused with a small bow of her head. More like a small slumber. Temporary coma. She sat up a bit, straightened in the seat she had dozed off in. “ I dont believe so. So long as things are secure, it’s all I can ask for. “
“Need me to go calm things down then?” he asks with a small chuckle before nodding. “Just checking in to make sure. Maybe when you’re well rested we can have that little music session that we talked about before?” he asks.

Calix nodded as Kai spoke and looked around as he stepped further into the space. His own place had three rooms, but it certainly didn’t have this view. He relaxed into the Siren’s arms his own going around his neck again. It was much easier to be receptive to such now that they were behind closed doors. His brow furrowed lightly at Kai’s words and he shook his head. “No, no. Don’t say that, Kai. You-You had to. I know that.” Calix smiled up at the Siren. “And it was for the best. I had to go back to the real world at some point.”
Kai’s hands slid up the back of Calix’s shirt, his hand roaming over the soft skin tracing small patterns into it. “No, you were still healing and I needed to be there for you. I swept the rug out from under you when I left, and I will always feel guilty about that,” he says softly, resting his forehead against the shifter’s. “I don’t know why you don’t hate me for what I did,” he says, one of his hands sliding to the front, and ran over Cal’s stomach, scratching lightly against his abs. Pulling his head back he sighed softly, “I know about the real world, but we could’ve gone together. I could’ve helped you readjust.”

Brandon nodded again. “I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.” He could try to remember not to use a title. It was just so ingrained into him. But if it was what Kai wanted, then Brandon should at least try. He shrugged at the question. Why was everyone asking what he wanted to do? “I don’t know… I hadn’t really thought that through before I came outside. But if you’re sure I won’t bother you.. I wouldn’t mind coming with you. I don’t want to be in the way.”
“You won’t I promise,” Kai says shaking his head. This was the first time he’d seen a light struggle with their behavior since Calix. He needed to remember all the steps he used to do with the other if he was going to help Brandon feel comfortable. “Yeah let’s go, you’re not a bother,” He says with an encouraging smile and motioned towards the path. “Plus, it’s always nice having attractive company with me during a nice walk,” he says with a wink. Making his way onto the path, Kai looked back at the boy, “So what do you like to do, Brandon?”

Max’s eyes widened at the mountain of man that stood before him. He’d always been a little guy himself, but this Super. Jesus. His size was just so extra. He let out a scoff, rolling his eyes at the words. “Ain’t no brat, just don’t wanna fuckin’ be here. How’s abouts ya just take these cuffs off n’ I’ll slip back out through the gates n’ we can call it even?”
Kai watched the boy size him up and smirked down at him. “Honestly it’s way better than the last place. Also, I’m not authorized to remove those. You’ll have to find Calliope or Nikolai for that,” he says pointing to the cuffs. “And yeah sure go ahead and slip on through. Have fun with whoever is waiting on the other side to nab your ass and bring you back to a place where you have no freedoms.”

“Maybe, haven’t really decided yet. Everyone is always running around and screaming joyously out there.”
“Well if you want, the lake is always pretty quiet. Have a house there if you ever need some silence around you,” Kai offers. “When I’m not patrolling all I do is either fish or sit down and read.”

Calix walked inside once he was invited and looked around. The place was a little empty, but then again his house wasn’t much better. He’d never gotten the whole decorating thing down. He’d spent so much time in his animal form or moving from place to place that it was never anything he’d really had to do. But he was sure he’d have some help this time around. “I mean, there’s a couch and I’m assuming a bed so it would see you have the essentials down,” Calix teased, looking over at Kai. “I’m really glad you finally made it out here.”
Kai went and put his keys on the kitchen counter, “There’s two beds actually, one in the master and then I have a guest room that’s right across from it,” he says. “But yeah just the bare minimum for now. It’s...weird for me living on land still. I’m more used to living underwater ya know,” he says with a small shrug. Smiling at the shifter, Kai walked over and wrapped his arms around Calix’s waist again, “Me too knowing that you’re here.” He reached up and ran a hand through Calix’s hair, a soothing gesture he used to do all the time when he had first met him. He still felt guilty at having to leave Calix when he had to start training seriously. The look on the shifter’s face when he told him was still plastered in his memory. “I should’ve never left you...” he trails off softly.

Kole glanced briefly at the book, having little interest, being mortal and all. “Just waiting.” Trying not to crawl out of his skin as he struggled to adjust to this place and his emotions seemed to enjoy yo-yoing because of it.
“You okay over there? You look like your about to jump and bolt out the door...” Kai trails off. “I mean I can walk around with you outside if it’d make you feel more comfortable.”

“Not you, I was at the assumption that you fell asleep.”
“Nope just reading a book,” Kai says holding up a book about ancient legends. Getting up from the chair he was sitting in he stretched and put the book back on the shelf. “Did you need anything or were you distracted?”
kole-finley:
“If you were talking to me, I wasn’t listening for the last ten or so minutes.”
Kai had been busy reading when he looked up and heard someone talking, “Who are you talking to exactly?” he asks confused.

Koda didn’t sense the other until hands were grabbing at him and making him let out a shout of shock.·“Sonofabitch!” He would have turned, but hands that felt huge were holding him in place until he was slowly turned to come face to face… or face to chest with the apparently occupant of this house. Looking up towards him and swallowed a little hard as his brain rushed for something witty to say.·“Don’t know me, yet. I’m Koda, what’s your name?”
Kai laughed at the boy’s reaction when he caught him. He didn’t mean to scare him that bad, just wanted to see him jump a little bit.·“Well Koda, I’m sorry that I scared you that bad, but what are you doing sneaking around my house?” he asks the light curiously, watching as the boy sized him up.·“I’m Kai by the way,” he tells him.·“I mean if you really wanted a tour of the house you could have just walked in...the door is unlocked,” he says walking over and popped it open.·

“Some better than others,” Calix said with a nod. “But so far no one seems to be taking things too terribly.” He shook his head at Kai’s mock surrender, laughing lightly. A treehouse, really? “I’m not sure you’ll fit on my couch. My bed is much bigger.” He smirked over at the Siren, making the underlying implications clear as he bumped into him lightly. His attention turned to the house as they approached and he gave an impressed nod. “Very nice. Waterfront property too of course. Is the inside just as nice?”
Hearing about the lights made Kai feel a bit better at the situation, “That’s good at least. The last place was just...” he trails off shaking his head. He hated the slave trade, especially after seeing how much it had damaged Calix when they were young. It took too many years in order to bring the shifter back to the point where he was now. Seeing Calix smirk, Kai rolled his eyes with a small laugh, “Been waiting to say that one this whole time haven’t you?” he asks bumping the smaller boy back. Looking over at his house Kai walked up to the front door and unlocked it letting Calix in. “It’s still a little bare, but I’m working on it,” he replies and flipped on the lights.

Brandon’s brow furrowed slightly at the correction, because it felt so wrong, but the rules were different here. Everything was different here. So he just nodded. Glancing in the direction Kai indicated, Brandon considered the offer for a moment. It would be nice to know where everything was, and with a super next to him, he wouldn’t feel like he was sneaking around or snooping. Even if he was supposedly allowed to now. “Sure, that would be nice, if you’d like, sir. I mean, Kai. Sorry.” That was going to be a tough habit to break.
Kai watched as the boy struggled with the title change, a small frown tugging at his lips. He must have been put through some very rough training in order for him to have a rough time with titles. “You don’t have to apologize for calling me sir. I’m not very fond of the title outside of sex, but if it’s easier for you to use, then go ahead and use it okay,” Kai tells him. “Well what would you like to do?” he asks. “You don’t have to come with me if you don’t want to, kid.”
