Well, it's almost the time. I don't expect much looking at the previous anniversaries, but deep inside I have this little bit of hope that maybe, just maybe, they will make this one special as it should be. And I'm not talking bout bunch of SQ or free limited ticket. Solomon is one of my favourite story chapters, I kinda hate how they did the movie so dirty. It didn't feel special at all. It was like "how non-Fate fans see Fate". Sacrificing the depth, emotions and atmosphere for fighting scenes and le "epic" moments, even if it doesn't make much sense. I wish we could see the peaks of Grand Order in the animated format, but I know it's not going to happen. The closest we got was probably Camelot 2, but even that was pretty rushed. Oh well, this series means a lot to me. It was the first thing that made me give anime a try, and not just think of it as "weird". I'm also a history enjoyer, as well as fantasy, so something like this was right up my alley. And it stayed with me through all these years. My favourite characters from all time come from this series. And I appreciated, no matter how wonky it may end up being, that most of the series thries to tackle some greater themes and not just be a simple "beat-up simulator". What I love most in FGO is the variety of different artists, that each put their own spin on the character and design they are given. It's truly wonderful and stands out, when the most gacha games just use one style for everyone. While I don't enjoy farming, I feel the overall gameplay is pretty enjoyable, especially when you have to think about the gimmicks and team comps you should use. This series is also an inspiration for my own series. I owe a lot to this series. And I just hope it grows, but never loses it's spirit. Let's raise a toast fellow masters!
