I recently came across a flash drive that includes a bunch of writing assignments from when I was in high school. Including some short stories👀

I wrote a short romance scene (a few hundred words) which was crazy considering I had never read any romance before that!! And then I submitted it for an assignment?? That shows how much I trusted my teacher I suppose, that I shared something kinda vulnerable.

I can’t decide if it’s cringe or if I like it!

For anyone who needs to hear it, having a good day doesn’t invalidate the difficult days that came before it.

(I deal with chronic mental illness and sometimes having a good day makes me wonder if everything before was as serious as I think it was, or if I’m imagining things. Basically I feel like if I’m having a good day now, I’m not deserving of sympathy ever, but that’s not the case.)

You can just appreciate having a good day and not feel guilty about it.

The bad days are real. The good days are just as real.

I’ve put up a new bird feeder, and within just a couple of hours I have a bunch of visitors. Including! A house sparrow with only one foot! I think he needs a name 🤔

In general I am not very good with taking care of plants, but I very much want to work toward filling our yard with native plants to invite more bugs and birds, etc., and in general just being aware of what I’m doing that affects the local flora and fauna.

My favorite thing that I’ve done is made extra sure not to clear away all the leaf litter, only where necessary like the driveway, specifically for the creatures that need it for their life cycles, like fireflies and moths. And you know what? I think it worked, we had so many fireflies in our yard last fall. Truly sparks joy.

I’m starting to repeat my seasonal pattern of regaining energy with the weather, along with motivation to be creative again! Thank goodness

I did it, I started making ship art of two of my OCs!! It’s so difficult and intimidating haha

I want to try something kinda scary… I want to try drawing my OCs… how do I overcome the cringe?

I don’t feel like I’m good at anything anymore?

Like I haven’t kept up with my hobbies and now that I’m returning to them, it’s like I’ve completely lost any skill I had before. I feel like I’m starting from scratch.

Like maybe I used to be smart and talented and now I’m not anymore?

A confused grief.

Someone I was close with passed away suddenly.

I remember, we kissed. I talked to them after a breakup and we kissed.

We went to the small town mall, we sat in my car and chatted, and we kissed.

And I moved away and hadn’t seen them in years and I’m in a committed relationship but I learned what happened and my stomach flipped.

I don’t understand. I can’t fathom. I knew them.
