Izuocha: Pale

This is a entry for @izuochaweek event day 4 pale.

As he get Ochaco out of the water, Izuku got worried when he see her skin has turn and he quickly worked to give her CPR with a little help from his quirk. After awhie, Ochaco gasp for air while coughing out the water as Izuku cry that it works.

Izuocha: pen

This is a entry for @izuochaweek event day 4 Ink. When I learn of this prompt, all I could think of is a pen and I think up this cute short story of Izuku share a pen to Ochako.

During a class test, Ochako find that her pen has run out of ink, which she groans. As his desk is next to Ochako's desk, Izuku noticed that she is upset and hand Ochako his spare pen, which she is amazed and whisper to Izuku, "Thank you." as Ochako take his pen and getting back to the test.

Izuocha: Lost in the mist

This is a entry for @izuochaweek day 3 Mist and a Feudal Japan AU.

The mist got Izuku lost in the path and the samurai student got nervous as he worried that he wouldn't find the way out of the forest.

As Izuku look for the path, a young woman with short brown hair and wearing a pink dress come of the forest and ask him, "Are you lost?" Izuku said, "Y-Yes. Do you know the way?" and she reply, "Yes. I know the way out. Follow me. My name is Ochaco."

As they walk, Izuku ask Ochaco, "Do you live in these forest?" and she reply, "Yes, I live here with my family. They teach me of the paths out of the forest and I find it useful to help anyone else lost."

As Izuku continue on the path, Ochaco wave him farwell.

Izuocha: His sunlight

This is a entry for @izuochaweek event day 3 Radiant and take place after the Deku vs. Class 1-A Arc.

Ochako find Izuku sitting in his bedroom after what he had went through, fighting villians with little rest and people criticize him. As she enter the bedroom, Ochako ask Izuku, "Hey, are you okay, Deku?" Izuku see Ochako and said, "Yeah, I'm starting to feel better." Ochako smile and sit next to Izuku as she said, "I'm glad that I was able to help you, Deku. You seem to need help real bad." Izuku then said to Ochako, "Ochako, you has been my light since we first meet. You give me the courage to do my best in school and continue to train as a hero."

Successor to the Pirate King, Captain of the Uravity and on a mission to find the island Hosu, Ochako finds herself on the infamous pirate ship 'Dynamight'.

She expects her mission to go smoothly, find the map to Hosu for the King and leave.

What was she supposed to do when she meets her match in the ship's first mate?

Well I wanted to write about pirates so I did and it got a mind of its own and decided to come at my throat especially with the fact it is exactly 12k words no I do not regret it. I've wanted to write a pirate fic for a while now, my first fic (for fairy tail) was a pirate fic so I decided to see how much I grew and boi oh boi did I grow lmfao. I had a ton of fun writing it and yes I did laugh while writing lol. 

[In regards to research rabbit holes] I learned about figureheads. A lot about figureheads. Like they dont have crystal eyes, normally they're wood. And they were always a woman or a sea creature. Women were used to replicate sirens to scare any beast off or an animal that was seen as lucky would be used.

“The version of him she needed had emerged again. Not a friend. Not a lover. A rival.”

Ochako knew she was a long way from being a hero that could match Deku. But when she is unable to save him from a severe injury, she questions whether she is worthy of a place at his side. She must find a way to prove her strength, to both herself and to him. Even if that means risking their relationship.

The idea stemmed for some long fic I never got around to. Essentially, as opposed to the previous times I wrote a fight scene, I wanted this one to be a lot more raw and have them be in a more true conflict. Previously, the fights I've done have been on friendlier terms. This time I wanted them mad, frustrated and truly clashing emotionally. Originally I wrote 75% of the story from Izuku's perspective before getting to the fight scene, realizing Ochako had way more at stake here and rewriting most of it from her perspective (maybe it's also because I stan Ochako harder) 

I always prefer to end my fics on hopeful/lighter notes, so never really thought they wouldn't reach an understanding. At the core, even though they are in conflict, I always feel these characters are in sync enough to work through that, and my writing tends to reflect that...In truth, I wanted to make them an estabilished couple because I've already written a lot of the pre-couple phase and I tend to favour establishing them now. The other element is Izuku's side of the conflict and his own anxieties about not being good enough in romance. Besides my own wish fulfillment, I think making them estabilished helped me setting up the story's tension. 

[Regarding the theme] As soon as I saw that prompt my mind drew to the fight I had wanted to write for a while and it proved straightforward enough to weave it together. It definitely inspired me to accentuate those bitter feelings more and more, and drive them farther and farther apart. The "cold" part of it led to some of the best scenes, and explore Ochako's tendency to shut down her feelings/be secretive about them as "freezing" him out. Also this was all in winter because of the theme, cheesy but I ended up liking the idea of them rolling around in the snow. Favourite part of the fic was absolutely the fight scene, and having them fall together and hold hands at the end of it all.

Pro Hero Ochaco "Uravity" Uraraka's routine life gets disrupted when a raid she is involved in gets interrupted by a fairly unknown villain. As she pursues a new gang dealing in human trafficking, Ochaco gets entangled in a web of corruption, conflicting ideals, and something more frightening than any villain: falling for the uneasy ally she's made.

It’s an experiment really on my end to see if I can tackle more serious topics and themes. Of course the protagonist is Ochako because yes. [In regards to theme] If you just have a theme present, it’s not gonna impact anyone unless it’s very triggering. I want folks to really feel something when I write a fic.

[in regards to challenges writing this piece] Writing the Green Tea in such a different light. Figuring out their individual histories and how they’d interact with each other. 

[An element you would change] Hmmm how I approach the theme of human trafficking I suppose. t’s just an element in the story and doesn’t really impact anyone. At least I don’t think so...

Ochako was born with the Sight, the ability to read the stars and decipher the future. She made friends with a little boy in her village with a messy mop of green hair and freckles on his face who dreamed of being the Hero who could save the world.

She saw his future, and she wept, because he would become that Hero.

How can you live with the knowledge that the one you love was destined for greatness - and to leave you in the process?

How can you live with the fact you always knew what was coming, and couldn’t fight fate?

'Dear Astronomer, Can You Teach Me to Read the Stars?' was my contest entry, and it's a brief fairy tale-esque fantasy AU in which ochako and izuku are childhood friends.  ochako's magical power is the ability to see the future, while izuku is a boy without a fate because he was born without magic. Izuku finds the sword of one for all, which causes him to choose the fate of being a hero... and when ochako reads his future, she sees that he will die fighting the archdemon (all for one). The story is from her perspective, and is about her dealing with knowing what was coming, but not being able to stop it, and the aftermath of that. Thank you to both sarah and raziel for beta reading!

'dear astronomer' is a song, actually, and I was listening to that, and it has relevant lyrics, and so I was thinking about ochako's space theme in the context of fantasy and seeing the future, and with sir nighteye, how crippling it can be to know bad things are going to happen, and there's nothing you can do to stop it...I was having a lot of fun with the idea of 'can I tell ochako's entire life story in 7k words, and make it mean something?' I wanted izuku's death - and more importantly, absence - to really mean something, but the constraints were something fun to write around. 

I think the most important thing I conveyed (or I hope I conveyed) is my belief that izuku not being the chosen one is important to him and makes him a better character. He is specifically not destined to save the world... until he finds the sword. He chooses to save the world.

When they’d promised themselves to be there for each other till the end, they really meant it. The beauty of it was the fact they’d always have each other in life. She’d always have his hands brushing through her hair. He’d always have her head that fit right beneath his chin whenever he hugged her tight and rocked her with him back and forth. He’d never stop doing that, combing her hair with his fingers like it was instinctive to do so. It was a blissful feeling to her. Years of being together and it still made her eyes threaten to close. There was a kind of beauty when being held, being pressed to his chest, being tucked under folded arms and crossed legs. Whether laughing in delight or crying like an infant, there was always that something in pure love neither she nor Izuku had expected to find.

I wanted to write something sad, so The Beauty of It was what happened. I intended for it to be short (about 2k words) and I wrote the whole thing for the sake of the ending. I like how it came out. Zombies aren't my thing but I had fun writing it. 

[In regards to trope inspiration] I guess I wanted to write about dreams, or how far are you willing to go for something you fine beautiful. That you'll find something so beautiful (whether it be a hobby or a person or a purpose in life) and you're okay with dying for it. I admit I'm not that familiar with the zombie trope, but it just fit with the ending I wanted to go with. 

[In regards to research/inspiration done for the fic] I had to watch Alive and Train To Busan for references. I also had to reach out to Ama and Kat for some questions. I think I also asked on the writing channel for creative symptoms because zombie stuff was just so new to me.

In preparation of a class-wide New Year's Eve shindig in their last year at U.A., Izuku Midoriya uses warm thoughts to distract him from the cold weather.

Okay okay, "New Year, Same Us" looks very little like the initial ideas imagined it lol I've probably started from scratch two or three times not being able to decide what I wanted it to be. I like contest word limits as it gives me a goal and hard limit, but as I got closer the more to 12k I realized I wouldn't have room to say all I wanted to say even if I didn't know what that is lmao. The title was actually pulled from my girlfriend's now fiancé New Years Eve post on Instagram and i ran with it because it was short, sweet, and simple. That and I was still particular inspired by a line from  @Noble Auditore’s Perpetual Spring: But, in many ways,  the more things changed, the more they managed to stay the same.

[In reference to favorite part written thus far] Oooh, so this hasn't showed in entirety yet, and maybe it's ambitious, but I do want every student in 1-A (3-A in the fic) a line of a dialogue. Ultimately, it's an IzuOcha piece, so yes, it's about them, but I want that aspect to blend that in with events as they unfold.

Ah, so original idea was two nights, both taking place on New Year's Eve; the first night being during their school years and the second night taking place during a wedding. I love a good parallelism, but I eventually resolved to write the fic as covering one night.

Atop an ever changing mountain, it sure is nice to have people who are will to lend a hand out of the kindness of their heart.

It [the fic] was a story I've been wanting to write for well over a year but could never think of a actual "plot" to go with the premise. 

[In regards to the hardest scene] The cave sequence went through no less than five versions. All because I needed to give Ochako some place to go, and figure out how to snap Izuku back to reality. Granted, I wouldn't say any of this story was easy to write, but the cave sequence was hell to write.

It started out with that un-breakable duo thing Smash invented, however I accidentally wrote my favorite thing about this version in when I forgot to write Ochako getting embarrassed about thinking over the broccoli boi. Giving that these two have been living together at this point, the idea of them being more open to each other but it not really dawning on them that they could maintain a relationship was something I thought would be much more interesting.
