Description: The team discovers Jamie is injured.
Day 5;
@fluffyjuly: “I'll never leave you. I promise”
@whumperless-whump-event; "Someone get a medic!"
Ao3 or under the cut
The op is difficult and stressful. There is no chance to rest, let alone check for injuries. The adrenaline doesn’t fade until the helicopter lands one hundred feet from the safe house.
As the six enter the house, Jamie feels pain. She tries to downplay it, thinking it’s a minor injury until the room spins. She doesn’t realize that Ghost is lowering her to the floor.
“She’s too out of it to heal herself,” Gaz comments.
“Someone get a medic!” Ghost yells as he looks at the darker spot on Jamie’s shirt.
The severity of the injury and a medic’s arrival time troubles Gaz, Nikolai, Soap, and Price.
“Soap, see what you can do!” Price orders as he attempts to connect to base.
Soap grabs the large medkit kept on the table as Ghost carries Jamie into a bedroom.
“You’ll be ok,” Ghost assures Jamie as he rips her shirt off.
Ghost and Soap worry about the lack of protest about the action.
“Oh shit,” Soap mutters seeing the damage.
One side of Jamie’s abdomen shows a bullet wound; the other, a stab wound.
Soap rolls Jamie onto her side. He and Ghost feel relief upon spotting the exit wound. They worry about the damage. They know they need to stop the bleeding. Gaz, Nikolai, and Price enter the room.
“ETA is ten minutes.”
Ghost and Soap nod as they focus on Jamie’s wounds. Blood covers the bedding.
“Why can’t she just wear a bloody tactical vest like the rest of us,” Price complains.
“Worry about that later,” Nikolai says.
“Can’t we take her to the nearest hospital ourselves?” Gaz asks.
“No, we need a medic. She's unstable for us to transport ourselves and in a very dazed state,” Soap remarks.
The others know what he means. Without adequate equipment and supplies, Jamie’s condition might worsen beyond their ability to manage. Gaz, Nikolai, and Price watch Ghost and Soap work to stop the bleeding.
Jamie lies in a hospital bed a few hours later. She feels better, but is displeased.
“Some soldier I am,” Jamie mutters.
“Well, if you’d wear a tactical vest like the rest of us—”
Ghost cuts himself off mid-sentence. He realizes he’s just confirmed her belief that she’s a terrible soldier, which will cause her anxiety to spike, and she’ll start self-sabotaging. “I’ll never leave you, I promise.”
“We’ll never leave you,” Price adds. “Ghost is right, though. You should wear a tactical vest. What if this happened during a solo op gone wrong?”
Two days later. The sun shines through the window. The light hits Ghost in the face as he lies on the small couch. He opens his eyes, stretches, and sits up. Price will undoubtedly argue that he should have gone to his room, but Ghost is keeping his promise. He refuses leave her due to her struggles and while she’s recovering. As he approaches the bed, he notes how pale Jamie’s face is.
Upon leaving the room, he encounters the nurse making their rounds and asks them to check on Jamie.
The nurse walks in with Ghost. She’s calm, but can tell Ghost is worried. She reviews Jamie’s chart and understands why he’d be worried. Infected wounds are serious. After examining the area, the nurse's confirmation of an infection displeases Ghost. He knows catching it early is good, but he still hates that Jamie has to deal with it. The nurse leaves the room to inform a medic. Ghost takes Jamie’s hand.
The nurse returns ten minutes later with a medic. She carries an IV bag and the connecting tube.
“It’s a minor infection,” the medic informs Ghost.
The medic is confident that this infection won’t worsen before getting better, but he warns Ghost that Jamie will feel sick for a while. He leaves to inform Price. The nurse leaves once she’s finished. Ghost sighs, relieved. Jamie will be ok.
Stepping out on the balcony of their hotel room, Eames took a moment to admire the sight.
Not the beautiful golden beach or the endless blue ocean or the slowly setting sun, but the man standing on the balcony, leaning on the railing and looking out at the view.
Clad in beige linen trousers and a loose blue shirt, his hair free of product, curling slightly at his neck, he was a vision to behold.
Eames knew what a privilege it was to see Arthur like this, relaxed and casual, and sometimes, he still couldn’t believe his luck.
“Hello darling”, he greeted softly, stepping next to him and knocking their shoulders together lightly, and Arthur turned towards him, his smile real and as warm as the tropical breeze tussling his hair, the dimple Eames oh-so-adored showing on his right cheek.
“Enjoying yourself?”, he asked, and Arthur’s smile sharpened into a grin.
“It’s not too bad.”
Eames laughed. “I’ll take it.”
Arthur leaned in to kiss him lightly.
“Anywhere is good with you”, he whispered against his lips, and Eames just had to kiss him again, deeper, pulling Arthur flush against him, his heart so full he thought it might burst.
Summary: Weiss & Ruby find solace in eachother after a night of fighting Grimm.

A/N: for the last day of @whiterose-fans-blog and for day 15 of @fluffyjuly sleepy/‘hold still a moment’. Thank you all for 800 followers :)
Ruby has always been good at moving, and the worst part about coming home is that there’s finally time to think.
She’s good at running toward danger, towards the next mission. Running toward anything that keeps her from sitting still long enough to feel everything she’s carrying.
But after hours of fighting Grimm in the freezing wilderness, there’s nowhere left to run, especially not with Weiss sitting across from her.
They’re both exhausted, the tiredness settling deep into their bones. Ruby’s muscles ache, and Weiss feels dirty, grime and sweat caked to her skin.
Neither of them says much, because they’re too tired, or maybe because they both don’t want to face what needs to be said.
Ruby glances over, and Weiss is sitting on the edge of the bed, carefully cleaning a cut along her arm. Her hair is falling out of its usual neat style, strands framing her face.
“You’re staring again.”
Ruby immediately looks away. “I’m not.”
Weiss raises an eyebrow, her mouth twisting. Even when she’s exhausted, she’s still Weiss.
Ruby sighs. “Okay. Maybe a little.”
A tired smile pulls at Weiss’s lips before she looks back down at her arm. “You should shower and rest.”
“So should you.” Ruby counters and Weiss looks up again.
“I was here first.”
“That doesn’t even make sense.”
“It does in my head.”
Ruby laughs quietly, folding her arms as the silence returns. It could be comfortable, maybe even relaxing, but then Ruby remembers Weiss throwing herself in front of an attack earlier that day. Weiss remembers Ruby taking a hit meant for her. They’ve both done it too many times, both almost lost each other too.
“You scared me today.” The words leave Ruby before she can stop them, and she clenches her fingers into her palm.
Weiss inhales through her nose. “I’m sorry.”
Ruby shakes her head. “That’s not what I mean.”
Weiss looks away, her bravery failing her. She knows what Ruby truly means. They’ve been dancing around this for months, maybe years. Every almost-confession, every lingering touch, every moment where they stand just a little too close and pretend it means nothing.
Ruby takes a closer step, her boots quiet on the carpet flooring. “Weiss.”
The way she says her name makes Weiss’s expression falter. “What?”
Ruby has faced down monsters bigger than buildings. She’s fought battles where the odds were impossible, and yet this feels harder.
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with how much I care about you.”
Weiss sits up a little straighter, and the room is suddenly stifling. “Ruby…”
“I know,” Ruby whispers. “I know we’re tired, and maybe this isn’t the time.”
Weiss’s fingers curl slightly into the blanket. “But you’re doing it anyways huh?”
Ruby nods. “I almost didn’t get to.”
The room goes painfully quiet, and Weiss looks down. When she speaks, her voice is barely audible. “You’re impossible.”
Ruby gives a small, shaky laugh. “Yeah.”
“No, I mean…” Weiss exhales. “You’re impossible because you make it so hard to pretend.” Ruby feels her chest inflate but Weiss keeps going. “I’ve spent so long trying to convince myself that you’re just my partner. My teammate. My friend, and… I’m very tired of lying to myself.”
Ruby sits down on the bed beside her, and takes her hand. “Weiss…”
“Hold still for a moment.”
Ruby blinks. “What?”
Weiss’s thumb brushes over her knuckles, her eyes soft despite the exhaustion. “Just… hold still.”
To her credit, Ruby listens. She sits stiff as a board, and lets Weiss pull her closer, lets their foreheads rest together, lets the silence speak for them.
The kiss is slow. Careful, and Ruby wonders if she’s half dreaming. Weiss twists her head, the pressure deepening, and Ruby mimics her, barely moving her neck even though her hands ache to touch her.
When they finally pull away, Ruby’s eyes are already heavy.
“You’re falling asleep,” Weiss murmurs.
Ruby smiles faintly. “Maybe.”
“You’re impossible.”
“You keep saying that.”
“Isn’t it true?”
Ruby showers first, her short hair sticking to her neck as she slides into bed. Weiss showers next, ignoring the crumbled towel Ruby had left on the floor, the material that was lucky enough to touch her partner’s naked skin.
Exiting the bathroom, she smiles when she sees Ruby is already asleep. Quiet as night, Weiss slips in the covers beside her, wrapping an arm around her waist and dragging her closer. She kisses Ruby’s neck, behind her ear. The girl sighs, settling closer, and when Weiss closes her eyes, she swears she smells roses.

Description: A sunset dinner date with a surprise
Day 7.1;
@fluffyjuly; Happy tears | "Will you marry me?"
Ao3 or under the cut
Today is a day for Nikolai and John Price to celebrate. Eight years of friendship. Nikolai convinced Price to go for a helicopter ride to a field and have dinner as the sun sets. It’s no surprise to Price that Nikolai said he’d do the cooking. The Russian admits that he’ll be getting a cake from a local bakery.
“Cutting corners are we?” Price teases.
Nikolai only smiles before walking away. Price goes back to his office.
The hours tick by. Price has plenty to do, but he’s frustrated with the waiting. It’s obvious to everyone that he's tougher on the recruits today. Gaz, Ghost, and Soap know not to ask Price what’s troubling him, he’ll only lash out at them.
“Something is up,” Soap says.
“I’m thinking shit with the higher ups,” Ghost says. “All we can do is hope this passes soon before he scares all the recruits shitless.”
Thirty minutes before sunset. Price walks into the hangar where Nikolai keeps his helicopter. He sees the Russian doing the last checks. He sees the large cooler bag in the corner.
“Don’t you dare.”
Price smirks at the man’s warning.
“Is dinner that big of a secret?”
“So what if it is?”
Nikolai grabs the bag and puts it in the helicopter. He resumes his checks. Price watches him amused.
The bird is in the air ten minutes later. Price attempts to get Nikolai to tell him what’s in the cooler, but Nikolai won’t budge.
The bird lands in the middle of a field. Nikolai grabs the cooler, and the two disembark. The two pick a spot close to the bird to sit in the grass.
“Russian dinner,” Nikolai says as he unpacks a couple of containers.
Okróshka, Herring under the fur coat and Pryanik.
Price smiles at Nik’s choices. He’s never disappointed when he lets Nik cook. Nik finishes unpacking plates and utensils. He plates the food and hands the plate to Price before getting his own.
"I heard you scared some recruits today."
Once the two have had enough, Price gathers the dishes while Nikolai gets the white box from the cooler. Once the dishes are in the cooler, Price turns his attention to the box.
Price watches Nikolai open the cake box. He stares at the words on the cake. It isn't ‘Happy eight years of friendship’ or anything related to their friendship. Instead, Price reads, ‘Will you marry me?’.
“Well? Will you marry me?"
“Yes.”
Tears roll down Price’s face. Nikolai knows these are happy tears.
“While we’ve been officially dating for six months, I feel we’ve had an unofficial relationship for seven and a half years. I’m not rushing.”
The two kiss as the sun sets. Price pushes Nikolai to the ground and dry humps him.
“Really?” Nikolai smiles. “Out here on the field.”
“Or the floor of the helicopter.”
“Let’s clean up first.”
Price sighs, impatient.
Before long, Price is on the helicopter floor, enjoying himself with his fiancée. Details that no one will know about when they announce their engagement.
