Absolutely underrated in this chapter is the heartbeat sound effects that start here in Izuku's panel.

The heartbeat gets louder and louder and gets its loudest at the Kacchan reveal.

This lead up was FUCKING INSANE.

Afterward it's just silence as Kacchan looks around for Izuku and then time just slows down/stops.

I still don’t think we’re gonna get a gay kiss or an explicitly romantic love confession in a shonen manga . . . but if MHA doesn’t end with Izuku and Katsuki winning and saving together, as one, with burning passion in their eyes and a connection stronger than any romance the fictional world has ever seen before, then what? What was it all for?

And not just that. Not just Izuku and Katsuki seamlessly fighting together, because we’ve seen that before. There’s been so much foreshadowing about how they haven’t fully expressed their true feelings. That means, I think they’re actually going to talk about it. Not, “I love you,” but maybe something that means “I love you.” Something like, “we are two halves of the same whole, and I want to fight along side you for the rest of my life.”
