in juno steel we learn that home is not always the place you were born. in fact it is very rarely the place you were born. sometimes you think you were born in one place but you were lied to and were actually born in another, more messed up place. other times the place you were born is filled with people who hurt you and call you by the wrong name and see you with the wrong face. A lot of the time the place you were born sucks and your options are to either leave and live or stay and die. sometimes you leave and you become a better person for it. sometimes, when you become a better person for it, you actually become the galaxy's biggest supercop, and even though your story is cool and you are an awesome character, you are still a supercop, and thus you suck (nuance). sometimes, when you become a better person for it, you learn a lot of things about yourself, fight for what you believe is right, kiss beautiful men, get abandoned by beautiful men, chase down beautiful men because you are not letting him go without closure and you're both old enough to know leaving without a trace is bullshit, and ultimately return to the place you were born with or without beautiful men, but nevertheless holding the lessons you've learned and the connections you've made close to your heart. all this to say, home, much like everything good in the world, is something you make and nurture and not something you are given. i think
