“Clary turned. Isabelle was perched on the next bed, her long jet-black hair wound into two thick braids that fell past her waist."
There is something very fitting that Simon, of all people, is one of the first mundanes to ever set foot in the nyc institute. Same guy who was the first daylighter in 100 years, one of the few people who had the mark of Cain, and the only person to go from mundane -> vampire -> mundane -> shadowhunter. Like wow, average guy no1 kind of changing the game here.
Maryse x sharp objects pt . 1
I watched sharp objects (the show) and finished on the 22nd of June and then immediately read the book afterwards and the entire time i couldnt stop thinking about maryse and how i saw so much maryse in camille and also so much young maryse in amma and then i went on these crazy discussions with my friends of if maryse is camille then who would be her amma and izzy was an option and then it was if maryse is amma then whos her camille and max was brought up as an option and it was js such a mess i still think both assignments could work but the only conclusion i could come to in the end was camille was older maryse and amma was younger maryse and that was that . and max fits into the marian role so ...I rewatched the show and kept tabs while reading the book and ive made a compilation of #marysemoments from the book alot of this
alot of this internal dialogue and interactions js reminded me of maryse and how i would imagine her internal dialogue how she would talk about herself and interactions would be like . im hoping its fairly obvious what i mean by a maryse moment because when i say "You were never such a good girl when you were little," she said. "You were always so willful. Maybe your spirit has gotten a bit more broken. In a good way. A necessary way." is a maryse moment i mean it ABOUT maryse and not by maryse if u get what im trying to say . but the older maryse and younger maryse ammille scenes are gonna be in a seperate post as well as the show scenes coz i put too many screenshots in here anyways 🤦♀️🤦♀️.
the "my favorite character did nothing wrong" mindset is completely unappealing to me because i love thinking about all the things my favorite characters did wrong
Ares and Aphrodite as The Kiss! I’m so proud of this, I love the texture
when you grieve bro so much you take his name. simon really said i’m his widow now.
i have fucking art block.
proposing a new genre of fiction called an anti-romance where u r presented w a couple at the start & the story is about their emotional journey towards a catastrophic break up
will they won't they (end this farce). there's only one bed (but for some reason they don't really want to share it). out of context eavesdropping (that paints the relationship in a better light than it deserves). chasing after them to stop them getting on that plane (and stopping them from finally being free)
nobody understands my vision i don't mean any old story where a relationship fails and it's tragic or w/e i mean a story where the intention is for the audience to root for it failing the same way u root for it succeeding in a romance. & when the relationship finally implodes at the climax of the story it's all very cathartic & everybody cheers.
like have u never wanted a fictional couple to break up so badly it hurt?
The Morgensterns being Swiss… lowkey is that a Frankenstein reference ??
I feel like CC makes a few different nods to classic gothic books throughout like Arthur being the mad uncle in the attic has to be a reference to Jane Eyre
To add onto the Frankenstein one. Victor(Valentine) creating a monster (Sebastian) for his own ambition + his idea of making the world better + the creature coming out ‘wrong’ (Valentine saying that Sebastian had too much demon blood in him) + leading the creature to a world of loneliness (Sebastian being shunned by shadowhunter society) + The monster asking for a companion but being denied (Clary) + leading the monster to commit mass destruction (Sebastian starting the dark war)

can i say that i dont like it when people claim that diane and bojack are the exact same because. i just dont believe that is true. for all of dianes flaws she actively does try to be good person even if she does screw it up, and i do believe there is a conversation here about how she can be a hypocrite sometimes (especially where bojack and mr pb are concerned), but bojack is so self destructive and inherently abusive that he can rarely get out of that mindset long enough to consider anything else. whereas diane is someone who thinks about things so much that it is a detriment to herself.
i do think they are similar and have the same mindset but i think there is so much nuance the show brings to the conversation that is so often glossed over when it comes to diane specifically.
one of my favourite philism TM is when phil cracks himself up with something and finds himself the funniest person ever
watching the dnp birthday stream to feel something
You ruined me, BoJack.
