“What we've got here is something like those paradoxical ever-ascending Escher staircases--it starts off at 100% and somehow seems to kick it up a notch with every turn in the song even though it never really wavers. Based around a simple, anthemic three-chord rising figure, they absolutely nailed the template for this kind of music. Both guitars are constantly moving, never doubling each other but carving out distinct riffs at all times, while the violin comes in freely to harmonize with vocal and guitar lines at will, and the drums never stop their insistent march. Total masterpiece of its style.”
