GM Ultralite Concept, 1992. An exercise in efficiency with lightweight carbon-fibre construction, advanced aerodynamics, and a rear-mounted 1.5-litre three-cylinder two-stroke engine. A primary goal was high fuel economy, with an EPA highway rating of 80 mpg and the ability to achieve over 100 mpg at a constant cruising speed of 50 mph. The Ultralite was featured in the 1993 science fiction film Demolition Man, where it was depicted as a 2042 Chevrolet police cruiser.
