I wrote this last week, as I sat with you papa, pre fall. And now we have a new normal to get used to, but it’s so not normal. I’ll put it down here, so I don’t forget (😆) “as the layers of self are stripped away, what is left? Are you still in there? Is it on the tip of your tongue? Unable to be accessed, tantalisingly out of reach. What a frustrating place to be. To forget the BIG FULL life you have led, to be left speechless, empty but full. A snow globe dropped & shattered, too many pieces to ever be repaired. To the watcher, now the receptacle of memory, to remember the then, the was, the who. So easy to slip into loss, missing who you were, but you are still here. You sleep all the time now, is it to remember? We had such a good time at #thegreatobicleanup that I forgot to take 📸s! Lucky I took one of this beautiful #tree & #fungi & the lovely Lucy from #bigwavetv let me share a couple more. A wonderful #cleanup experience once again, we found lots of stuff, got a bit wet, sweaty & dirty. But most of all, we got to meet amazing people & hang out with them, have a laugh & chat and polish our souls a little bit (because a soul can always use a little buffing from time to time).
