A non-extensive list of how to watch WOSO
Hi friends! I noticed that it’s been really hard lately to remember where and how to watch WOSO. This list right now is primarily for NWSL & WSL but I will try to add more international leagues as I collect places to watch.
[I am not responsible for what happens should you use a stream of a cable network on a site that is not in your cable package 👀 fyi. I’m including VPN info on this thread 😉 ]
VPN information: VPN’s hide your IP address, and can change them to a different country. Why would you need this to watch woso? many of these apps and networks cost $$ that some of you may not have! So changing your IP from USA to UK for example would allow you to access the FA player to watch the WSL. (or you happen to use a link of a cable stream...which is similar to watching free movies on streams & always use an ad blocker extension!)
Free Suggestions: OPERA BROWSER (has a free built in VPN), Windscribe (only just over 3 hours worth of free streaming per month), ProtonVpn (free but only lets you choose 3 countries!)
Okay now that’s out of the way let’s begin with National Women’s Soccer League (USA).
Previous streams: NWSL.com, lifetime tv, go90 etc.
Current 2020-2021 streams:
USA: CBS ALL ACCESS, CBS SPORTS NETWORK, CBS, TWITCH.
CBS All Access: $ | CBS ALL ACCESS HAS REBRANDED TO PARAMOUNT + | March 4th 2021
https://www.paramountplus.com/
CBS Sports Network: $- through your cable provider. If you don’t have cable tv, you won’t be able to watch ( traditionally on your tv 😉) free stream here, use ad block! Loads of pop ups.
CBS: again your local cbs, but still accessible through cbs all access
Twitch: Free for local games. If a game is hosted on any CBS network it will not be on twitch for anyone in the USA. (and sometimes canada)
International Viewers: Twitch
Now it’s said that twitch has blocked vpns because it is owned by amazon. Say I were to drop this link right here that happens to say ones that still work in 2020 because we all hate jeff bezos...well. go forth.
USWNT:
This is tricky. Games for USWNT or any international woso game will be according to who gets the rights. For example Tokyo 2021 will be on NBC/NBCS for those in the USA. USWNT games have also been streamed on ESPN or ESPN+. Or Concacaf had a stream on youtube accessible with a vpn.
You may not have those, but don’t worry I’m going to cover it in the next section, the WSL.
Women’s Super League: WSL has rights with FAPLAYER.
FAPLAYER
Totally free and has most games that do not have broadcast deals in the US. You need to make an account though!
Oh no! You’re a US Viewer and there’s a game that you can’t access on FA Player!
Here’s the deal. Select WSL games have a deal with NBC/NBCS in the US. This is connected to the Premier league deal with NBC/NBCS & Peacock. So far WSL is not on Peacock, but I would keep my eyes open to that in the future. It’s similar to CBS All Access but just from NBC.
So, you don’t have a cable package in the US, or you don’t have NBCS :
Make an account for Ata Football. Atafootball is the broadcast host of all WSL games with broadcast deals. You can read up on their site but basically their goal is to connect women’s football across the globe and are owned by a former sky news exec. Totally free.
Say you can’t find a game there for some reason? or are geo blocked? [use your trusty VPN to leave the USA]
There is this lovely site that was created for military families to watch USA tv abroad ;) just type in the channel NBC/NBCS and you’ll get a stream.
If you’re in the UK there will be streaming on BT sport.
Also some WSL clubs will be airing their games on their own personal club tv channels. This is kind of difficult to follow but the Conti Cup games for WSL do not have any broadcast deals right now.
Please go to your personal clubs website and find their tv information. Some like Manchester United has a paid tier status, others like Liverpool were streaming a game on their youtube channel through their tv platform. Some conti cup games may be streamed, some may be behind closed doors.
This link also works for multiple leagues no matter where you are 👀 (rule of thumb, use an incognito tab and google the network name + live stream then make your way through the results. Don’t click on pop up ads, and use an ad blocker.)
Women’s Champion League was bought as part of CBS All Access deal with the Men’s Champion League this year. It was also on the FA player for US residents.
There is another new service that has been covering women’s champions league, Wnited.tv! This is free to use, no VPN needed & relatively new.
All of these are accessible on web. As of 2020 Twitch does not have a Roku app or Apple Tv app. I believe because it is owned by amazon, it is on the amazon firestick. FA player does not have an app beyond for apple/google. CBS All Access has a Roku app/ apple tv app.
I hope this helps as we all make an effort to watch the beautiful game. If you’re able to, try to buy a sub for one of these platforms. If you’re not, take advantage of free one month deals from some of them (cbs all access does this!) and support your teams online. :)
