My friend Anson gave me this incredible charcoal portrait, and when I saw it for the first time, the only thing I could say was…

“I FEEL LIKE I’M REALLY SEEING MYSELF FOR THE FIRST TIME.”

I still don’t know exactly how to explain that feeling.

It’s a rare thing when someone looks at you so deeply that they capture something you didn’t even know other people could see.

THIS is one of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received.

Darklight 7 Opening Ceremony, July 4, 2026

I don't usually post opening ceremony video links, I usually just share more substantial panel videos, but:

So far all I've seen shared on social media from the opening ceremony are clips cropped for portrait that don't show everyone and/or don't have the whole ceremony. This video shows pretty much everything.

I doubt we'll get any substantial panel videos since this is one of the cons that doesn't permit video recordings. So at least this is a "full" video of something!
