Letting You Go

What's the most difficult thing to go through? I think its probably being so in love with someone, and they just absolutely desert you physically & emotionally. I was in complete love with my boyfriend, eleven months together, and I wouldnt have ever traded it for the world. He moved 497 miles away, and that was so fucking disheartening. We stayed together though, talking about visits for Christmas, etc., and keeping as optimistic as possible for each other. After a while, he stops talking to me, a week long of no texts or anything, and one day, he texts me finally. I got a huge smile on my face when I saw the message was from him, then my eyes scanned the message, and just like the blink of an eye, my heart shatters to the floor in front of me. The man whom I loved so dearly, and completely, had found someone else that replaced me.

I confess, I wasn't the best girlfriend in the world, but I tried so hard. I said things to other men that caused his trust to disinegrate, but I never did anything with them. But, he did the worst possible thing to me. But I can't do anything about it, except cry & very, very slowly, piece my heart back together. I can't say I don't blame him for not wanting me, I wouldn't want me either.

Letting you go was one thing I never thought I would have to do.

Letting you go for me was harder than you letting me go.

Letting you go was like dry swallowing a pill the size of a grape, but you letting me go was like a gust of warm wind on a summer day.
