was having an argument with friends about how fucking useless those mall security robots (that've been around since like 2016) are
i'm hooting and pointing to pictures on my damn laptop of these bad boys-
and arguing that shit up there on the ceiling/roof can see everything going on below it, and that shit can swivel if they want it to! and also they slap every mall/target/best buy all over with 20 to 50 0f these fuckers, full visibility coverage! and then you only need one person with a pair of functioning eyes to monitor the camera feed, and no one can kick them over/hit them with their car
one friend is insisting that just having them (the robots) present is enough to deter ne'er-do-wells, and that having a camera that can travel around ground level makes them useful, and that justifies the 20 thousand dollarydoos per robotπ€
and so we're pissing at each other back and forth over this, then suddenly friend 2 holds up their tablet and fucking shows us:
these things are GARBAGE my god
they can't even turn their stupid camera around 360????
