ADDISON [drunkenly]: Today would have been our anniversary.
JACK: I remember.
ADDISON & JACK
ADDISON: If Jack had anyone to thank for Addison deciding to give him a second chance, it was Rhiannon. The former manager of 23 opened the woman’s eyes, despite Addison’s refusal to do so. She was stubborn, and didn’t want to chance being hurt once again by the only man she ever allowed herself to love. He was going to /marry/ someone else, after all. Nobody could blame her for being suspicious now that he apparently wanted to win her back. But Thanksgiving was better than she anticipated, and their loss sparked a desire within her to try and resolve their issues. Like Rhiannon pointed out, sometimes things turned out better the second time around.
Arriving at the restaurant they agreed on, Addison awkwardly flattened her hair before pulling open the door and walking to the hostess stand. “Hi, I’m meeting someone. Not sure if he’s here yet, but- oh, nevermind. I see him,” she spoke politely, but with a shakiness that was unlike her. It was obvious she was nervous.
Approaching the bar where Jack was waiting, Addison came up from behind him and planted a forced smile on her face in an attempt to hide her anticipation. “Well, the place looks nice, but we’ll see how good their food is,” she teased, already trying to break any potentially awkward tension between them. “You look good, Jack,” she added on.
JACK: Addison's sudden change of mindset hadn't gone unnoticed by Jack and although he had a million questions to ask when it came down just why that was, he was very purposely biting his tongue and enjoying the wave as it came.
Thanksgiving had been somewhat of an experience but he definitely counted it as a positive one and he thought that maybe Addison had, too. After all, she'd gone from remaining very adamant about keeping distance between them to now pointing out that yeah, maybe it was time for the two of them to lay their cards on the table and really talk.
Getting to the restaurant early after carefully selecting a nice pair of pants and a shirt that complimented them, Jack sat at the bar and ordered a beer while he waited for Addison; taking the edge off of some of those nerves.
Smirking when he heard that familiar voice, her turned on his stool to face her and took a good look at her. She was, quite simply, stunning.
"You look better, Addison," he teased; getting to his feet to plant his lips on her cheek gently. "Hope you're hungry. I'm ready for you to rate this place out of five stars."
addisonnash:
Yeah. That sounds good.
Pick you up at 7?
addisonnash:
Both? I don’t know. We can’t really talk during a movie, and… I think maybe we should.
Dinner and drinks, then? Opens up plenty of time for talking.
