How Race Shows Affection

Okay, so we know all the newsies are very affectionate. But I specifically wanna talk about how Race shows affection.

One thing that we see throughout Newsies Live is that Race is best at showing physical affection towards his family. Normally by a pat on the chest/shoulder, or sometimes even a hug.

He always does this either as a casual way of showing that he cares, or out of pure excitement. 

He’ll also do this to comfort the other newsies and let them know that things are gonna be okay. For example, this one part from Seize the Day:

And what’s so interesting is, I don’t really see any of the other newsies show their closeness like this. Or at the very least, I don’t see them be the ones to show it first. Obviously, we do see some of the other newsies being physically affectionate, but no where near as often as we see Race. He’s constantly got an arm around someone, or he’s patting them on the shoulder as he passes by. And I think Race does this to show the other newsies that he’s there for them. There’s tons of examples of this:

TLDR; Race cares deeply about his family and constantly shows it by displays of physical affection towards everyone. Somehow, no one ever seems to talk about it. at least I haven’t seen anyone talk about it.
