I’ve been putting a LOT more energy and effort back into the channel recently. It makes me really happy to see it get noticed :)

For a while I was really trying to change my content a lot for various reasons but that sort of meant completely abandoning the older style which I didn’t want to do.

There's that "favouritism drama" going on. I said some harsh words too but i want you to know that I love you and i appreciate what you're doing for us. I know you don't want any of us to feel left out. We wanna feel loved here in community but i want you to feel loved and comfortable in our company too.

This answer isn’t directly at you, I’m using it more as an outlet to address things generally, so please don’t think I’m lumping all of this on you specifically. 

I know I reblog and interact with certain people here more than others, I don’t think it ever really occurred to me properly because I usually just fly through the tag each day and interact with stuff as I see it and what it pertains to. It’s never been on my mind to do it for some more than others or “play favourites”. Some people are just FAR more active here than others and in the tag way more often, so just by sheer number alone it would make sense that I would see their stuff more as it’s usually more current. I’m sorry if people felt left out or underappreciated as a result of that. It’s a byproduct of things rather than the intent. 

That being said the whole point of creating and uploading stuff should never be about solely getting my attention. That’s not a very sustainable avenue for creativity because it’s always going to feel like I’m not doing enough at some point. I’m just one guy in a sea of 20+ million of you and I only have so much time that I’m on here. I’m even trying to cut back on social media interaction this year because it’s fundamentally changed me over the last few years as it would with anybody when you’re constantly getting feedback from people 24/7 on how you should be or act or what you should say and do. 

In regards to why I chose spacejellybeans for the pin design, it’s because I know and trust her and like her art style. She’s been around for a long time and I knew that working with her on the design was never going to be about exposure or fame or anything like that. I purposefully went to her myself and paid her to make a design for the charity pin because I could trust her under that pressure to do it. There’s also a whole legal side of things when you sell someone’s design and she’s had experience with that too. 

Please don’t let your involvement or love for creating in the community fall back on whether or not I see it or give it a lot of attention. You will get burnt out and feel frustrated very quickly if that’s the goal. If I had that mentality when I started my channel then I wouldn’t even be here still doing it now, because I made stuff for the love of it first and anything outside of that was a lovely bonus. I’ve been wondering how to address all this stuff for a while and always held back because I’m never going to please everyone but at least I can get some of my thoughts out.
