This was a bad idea. He should have thrown Wheeljack out than relent. This was becoming clear to him now as his focus shifted from the various tubes and vials filled with mildly corrosive liquid and instead honed in on Wheeljack out of concerned paranoia. With his attention split between dangerous chemicals and a dangerous wrecking ball, he opted to focus on the thing he could deal with at the moment: Wheeljack.
Placing the vials back in their holders, he turned to glare at Wheeljack, “I am not–” but he’s abruptly cut off from Wheeljack’s presentation, optics cycling as he blinks dumbly at the ruined tool.
“That–that was Bulkhead. Miko decided to play a prank and–and– put that down! It’s broken as it is, I don’t need it damaged further before I get around to fixing it!” He doesn’t even wait for Wheeljack to listen to him. He’s already stomping over there himself, brusquely snatching the ruined socket wrench from the Wrecker and placing it among the pile of discarded items. One of many he has to get around to fixing. Huffing, he can feel his plating begin to slightly flare in agitation.
“I am not working on an explosive, Wheeljack, so no! I do not think your expertise is required. Thank you, but no.” He folds his arms over his chassis, waiting expectedly for the other to turn and leave now that it’s been made apparent he’s not wanted.
He manages to grab one last glance at the mutilated socket wrench before it’s wrested from his grip and can’t help but feel the slight tug of satisfaction that Bulkhead never seemed to change, no matter how far or how long he was away. It was good. It was grounding. His back wings flicked slightly when he caught sight of Ratchet though. The medic was obviously more interested in driving Wheeljack out of the vicinity than he was in a conversation, but if there was one thing a Wrecker was, it was stubborn.
And he was probably the worst of them when it came to that. He had enough reprimands to know that at least.
“Easy Ratchet,” he eases back, hands lifted in the air as a show of submission. “I’m not about to make a bomb out of whatever it is you're workin’ on. Just thought I might be able to help since I have some experience in that field. Probably more than the other ‘Bots around here anyway.” He couldn’t imagine Bulkhead might have picked up being a chemist, and he certainly couldn’t see Optimus Prime of all them all invest in it either.
“But I can see you really aren’t in the mood, so if you want me to leave, I’ll go. Just say the word, doc.”

I’m not an expert but… I think humans get them when they interface.
The poor human medical specialist, named for something so… crude.
Is it a mark of honor, for humans? You know more about them than I do, Wheeljack, I don’t want to presume but also. Oh, dear.
Whoa, there’s humans named after interfacing equipment? That’s like if you were named Valve instead of Rung. Weird.
Even worse, I hear that organics eat each other's bones too. Humans even feed them to their pets! Crazy stuff.
dangeratchet:
He has half a mind to tell Wheeljack that just because he doesn’t intend to break anything, that doesn’t mean he won’t. But he also knows that it would tempt the Wrecker far too much to remain if only to prove a point.
“Fine, fine. If you’re going to stay and bother me, then at least do it over there,” he motions off to some area of his bay to the side, away from his tools and equipment and most importantly, away from him.
“As for lending a servo, you absolutely will not. I am working on a chemical compound and I do not need your clumsy fingers in my way.”
He might be deflating a little, but he can’t say it wasn’t expected. Shifting to the aforementioned area, he leans against an overberth table laden with clutter and scattered diagrams. He trifles through them if only to look busy while his focus remains on the medic.
“Chemicals huh? Look, I know you don’t trust me in your business,” and really he shouldn’t. He’s no medic, he barely manages to weld his own injuries together on the field, and that’s only the obvious ones. He couldn’t guess how many internal injuries plagued his system that he didn't know about. “But I know at least a little bit about that particular topic. Sure you don’t want my help?”
He picks up a socket wrench -- at least, he thinks it’s a socket wrench, but its angle is all wrong and its handle has given in every which way, eyeing it with mild intrigue. Looking back at Ratchet he motions to him with it, a brow quirking in question with a smirk that threatens to pull over into a full grin. (but he won’t.)
dangeratchet:
“Well, you’ve ‘dropped by’. Now if you don’t mind, leave. I have work to do and you being here just means nothing will get done–or worse, something will get broken! Now, if you please…”
Motions to the exit with his wrench-wielding servo, conveniently missing striking Wheeljack’s helm by a fraction.
“Ah, c’mon doc. No need to be like that! I ain’t here to break nothin’, cross my spark.” And he’s casually leaning away from the swinging weapon that he’s pretty sure was aimed at him.
A little life-threatening has never been much to stop him though. “What’re you workin’ on? Maybe I can lend a servo.”

as-you-command:
< Sharp and short siren; no need for that. Pinches the tip of his helm then. >
He’s very unamused by all of this now.
“Hey. Just ‘cause I let you pinch me once doesn’t mean I want you bein’ all clingy to me. Ya’ mind?”
as-you-command:
< Pinches those as well. >
Slaps the extensions away in annoyance.
“Stop that, I don’t like ‘em bein’ touched.”

You may attempt it. Once.
Attempt.
I am the only damn bot around here who actually wears green and that is very unfortunate.
