I almost signed up for that speed dating thing but I’ve had such horrible luck with dating apps that I wasn’t sure how different it would be.  I did go and observe though, and I mean at least it’s first meeting face to face, so maybe next time.  And then I went and observed at Gaze too.  I don’t know if it’s my scene exactly, but there are interesting components.  Yes!  Let’s start planning.  Well, I’m sure if you get too cold, Cooper will gladly warm you up.

Wait really? Oh Blaine, I wish you have had better experiences. But getting to go and observe is a great start. Who knows what kind of people you can meet that way too. Did you meet or come across any interesting people along the way? Hopefully if so they made a good enough impression that it encouraged you to give one of them a try. I was thinking maybe a party? A small get together? Even just a nice dinner. You are so right, he does an amazing job of that. I never have to worry about being cold with him close by.

Jackie: Right? It the perfect gift and such a great way to not only start the day but also for easy meals all day.

Jackie: You are especially right there, it will be such a beneficial product to have.

Hmm. Well, I love what I do. But I cannot say it doesn’t feel like work. It’s work worth doing, however. I’m sure the change of pace will be an exciting change. I provide legal assistance to the house and the residents there. I work primarily in civil law and some family, so it’s useful. Then you must also be excited to be home as well. Your family is still here, too? They must be thrilled.

That is such a wonderful way to put it, an even better way. It is nice when you can find a good perspective with what you do. It certainly makes it that much more enjoyable. It is! I am just loving it so much already. Oh wow now that is just amazing! It is great that you are able to help others that way. I certainly am! They were just over the moon when they found out too, they probably thought once I got a taste of the big cities I would come back home but it is tough to stay away for long. It is nice to just all be in the same place again and to help them at their academy.

You are exactly right, far more enjoyable too. Really now? I just love the sound of that. That just sounds like music to my ears, the more time I can have with you the better.

“What are you hoping to learn more about each other firecracker?” Cooper asked.  “I am excited to see you in this setting, teaching more than just choreographing.  Being a part of your parents school,” he admitted.  The Dominant smiled and hummed his agreement.  “The move was good timing for us.  Giving us an easy way to determine the whole who is moving in with who.  You know I love coming home at night and knowing not only that you’ll be there, but that you’ll still be there in the morning.”  

“You’re a very good girl, mostly,” Cooper teased.  “But I sometimes like it when you’re bad too.  It gives me all the more reason to be firm with you, and show you the way.”  He grinned.  “Your skin looks so beautiful all marked up, the pale in contrast to the other colors.”  Nodding his head Cooper agreed.  “You know I will tease you, but I won’t leave you wanting for too long.”  He stood up then.  “Up then my firecracker,” Cooper commanded. “Let’s see how well this office, and the furniture are going to work for us.  Quickly though, don’t forget your parents are expecting us.”

“More about what we want...what we can give each other. Especially now that we will have this extra time together. And in a new environment...” It meant the world to her that he was just as excited as she was. Jackie tried her best to do all that she could to make this a great change for them. Especially considering how big of a change it would be to their life before. But if there was anyone she’d want to enjoy this change with it would be him. “Seeing that handsome face of yours first thing in the morning can easily make any day amazing.” 

“And I just love it when you do.” She added on, “You’re the best teacher.” His grin made her own smile grow. “It is even better to get to watch you admire all your work.” It was so easy to get lost in him, especially when it came to his commands. Taking a moment before she finally acknowledged what he said. “Yes, sir.” Jackie replied, teasing just slightly before she got up. She kept her hands behind her but took another step towards him, she couldn’t help wanting to be close to him. “What should we do first? So many possibilities.” Her eyes running over his features before finally meeting his.

There’s nothing like a little questionnaire to make you feel vulnerable. Or unsure. 

Seriously, how does one answer the question: ‘Describe your ideal version of a healthy relationship’? 

Anyone got any suggestions? Swear I won’t plagiarize.

Well sometimes that can be a good thing. It can bring out thoughts or ideas you didn’t even know you had or needed in your life. 

What a great question and one that can mean different things for everyone. 

I would have to say it would be a person you can feel comfortable enough to communicate with. If you can open your heart to someone then it is possible to work through any up or down a relationship could bring.

It’s too hot here. Is it too hot? 

I tried to bike but I didn’t make it far. I need…does anyone know a good place to sit and wait for the shuttle back to Harborage? Somewhere with water.

It is that time of year, always a friend or foe. 

Tao is so great! It has a good variety of things. But I am sure that at least some of the various business would let you relax there. If not I could come pick you up, bring you some food and water.

As this is my last weekend of being thirty, I figured go big or go home right? Wrong. So wrong. As it would turn out, being thirty means you can’t party like you did when you were twenty-one, so who knows what thirty-one is going to do to me?

Still, I will be obnoxiously sporting a pink wristband tonight at Gaze – it’s a good thing I left the no alcohol party for the end. I’m not sure I’d have coped with another night of people buying me birthday shots.

Well I certainly hope that it means that you at least had a good time! Even if it didn’t feel that great after. Maybe this could even be a new motivation to find other ways to have fun and party. I feel like no matter what age you are there can always be a way to have fun. Happy birthday though! I hope you will have such a wonderful one! 

How did that end up going? I hope everyone had a great time! Cooper and I had so much fun at the 80s themed party. Hopefully people can come up with another gift for your birthday apart from shots!

You ever feel like you just got hit by a bus? Or like a semi-truck? I’ve been trying to cut back on my caffeine consumption, you know how it is. But it’s made me feel completely run down. Maybe I should go back to yoga…

Oh my gosh that just sounds terrible, I’m so sorry to hear that. It is difficult to make any transition from something you are use to. Yoga sounds wonderful though, it would at least be a way to relax you. Maybe you could substitute the caffeine with tea? I know there are quite a few that don’t have any in it or just not as much.

Oh gosh Jackie thank you.  I did take over a fall event that is coming up and we are already planning for the holidays.  I will be sure to let you and everyone at the St. James Academy know when I need help, which is a very likely possibility.  

Of course! It is just the truth! That all sounds like so much fun! Well not to toot my own horn but I’m a pretty great helper! I’ve helped with a few parties in my day.  I’d assume that everyone would be just as glad to help you too. My parents especially.

“Of course. Aside from Seoirse you’re one of my oldest friends,” she said. There were few people from grade school that Sophia still kept in touch with and most of her college friends were off living their own adventures. Being in the arts community back in school was great but at the end of the day they all were their own personalities and had flown off to nest apart from each other. Stability in friendships was hard to come by but Sophia had always had it in Jackie. 

“Well I think that’s a good sign that what you’ve got going is for real.” It was true that things changed and people changed but it was better to grow with someone than apart from them. Sophia only saw Jackie and Cooper growing with each other. 

“They’re amazing,” she said of Oak Manors. “Mine is on the block that has one car garages and faces the downtown area. It’s got a little stoop if I want to sit on the stairs and have my morning coffee. But usually I take it out on the small little terrace balcony that opens from French Doors in the master bedroom. It’s only big enough for a little table and some standing room but it’s gorgeous.” Like being in Paris, she always though, stepping out onto it. “If I knew I was staying I’d look in that development for something more permanent.”  

“And how amazing that we are all in the same place again.” It was truly a fantastic coincidence. “I’d almost say we subconsciously planned it.” She teased, laughing softly after. Jackie always valued her friendships no matter how close they still were or weren’t. It was easy to fall right back in step with a person, especially if they already had a connection. And from the start that always seemed to be the case with Sophia. 

“I mean it still feels like a dream everyday but you’re right it is an amazing sign. I’m just glad that we can do and try new things together. It almost seems...easier to try new thing with him by my side.” Jackie sighed happily it was hard for her to not gush about him any time her boyfriend came up in conversation. 

Jackie took another sip of her coffee as she explained her place, an excited smile grew when she sat down her coffee. “Oh my gosh Sophia that sounds beautiful! The stairs, the balcony, the view. I swear the view really does make all the difference doesn’t it? Especially when it is the first part of your day.” To hear that she found such a great place made her so happy. Sophia deserved to have a great place in Fair Grove. “You think so? That is good to know. I just can’t help but want to see any and all new things that this city offers.”

Blaine: Oh that sounds fun.

Jackie: That sounds perfect! I'm going to do some shopping with Sophia before it so if I come across anything I'll let you know!

Jackie: Do you have any specific ideas, Blaine? I think some breakfast items could be fun!

“I’m happy for you, really,” said Sophia. She sipped at her hot macchiato. She would’ve opted for a cold brew but she didn’t want to be too wired for the simple afternoon out. She’d rather remain lowkey. Besides, she’d been trying to wean herself off too much caffeine as of late. She noticed her body attenuating to it too much and making it more difficult to concentrate. 

“But did that perfect place come with…say…three bedrooms?” Sophia knew they weren’t officially claimed yet but they’d gotten more serious. Buying a house on a couple like that had the potential to put a strain on a relationship if the couple involved weren’t in agreement about where that relationship was headed. Were they already starting discussions about kids? Or was that something they’d not yet brought up with each other? 

“I love my temporary place…to a point. Do you know the housing development Oak Manors?” she asked. “Someone there had a place for rent. It’s such a gorgeous size.” Sophia put her macchiato down to sip at water. 

“I can’t tell you how much that means to me. Thank you.” A soft smile on her face. “Three bedrooms?” Jackie started before she rose her eyebrows, surprised when it finally clicked. “Oh...oh yes of course that.” She let out a soft chuckle before ducking her head down for a moment. While she very much looked forward to a future with Cooper she didn’t think that far ahead. But that didn’t mean it didn’t cross her mind at some point. She knew in general since she was young that she would be interested in starting a family, with the right person. And right now? It did feel like the right person. 

“We haven’t really talked that far head. But we are becoming a lot more serious, we’re hoping to learn and explore more while we are here. Fair Grove just felt like the perfect and more open place to learn more.” Jackie was honestly looking forward to learning more with the classes they wanted to take. It felt like the next big step for them would be making the claim official. “There is really no one else I would want to explore that with though. You know?” 

“I would still love to see this place! With your amazing fashion taste I could only imagine how great this place of yours is.” Jackie nodded, “Yes! I have if I moved back on my own I was considering getting one of those places. How are they?”

Coffee Queens

Sophia loved being back in her hometown. Renewing all these old social ties was exactly the thing she needed to become creatively stimulated again. She was working on homework and writing these days but she was also far more industrious now that she’d been back. 

She sat with Jackie now that they both had their orders. The coffee truck sometimes parked and put out chairs for their patrons and there was a lovely spot in the shade which worked perfectly. “I don’t usually do coffee past a certain time,” she said, sipping the elixir of the gods. “But this is divine.” 

“So. Please. Tell me all about your new place. How did you and Coop pick it?”

Apart from getting to introduce Cooper to her family and showing him where she grew up, she looked forward to meeting old friends. It was such a pleasant surprise that one of those friends were Sophia. Their busy schedules before didn’t allow them to meet quite as often but she hoped they could have more time now that they were in the same place. 

Jackie relaxed in the chair, sighing softly. Glad to be enjoying the summer breeze with such great company. “How can we say no to such a great treat?” A bright smile on her face, before she finally took sip of the iced coffee she got. “Gosh if they had something like this when we were in school I would have been here every morning!” 

“Oh my gosh don’t even get me started, it is wonderful! Although I think just being able to live with him is what makes it the best. Since we were in LA we did our best to research all the potential places. And one day we found the perfect one.”
