It was more difficult than he’d have liked to not go to the bar and grab another two of three glasses of champagne but now that he wasn’t just representing himself at high-society events he needed to shape up. He’d only just moved in with June and Harvey but gossip spreads fast and he didn’t wanna do anything that could hurt their reputations.

With his first (and only) glass half empty he mingled a little until he recognised Oliver Queen and figured making nice there couldn’t hurt. “Mr. Queen,” he smiled, “Are you enjoying the gala? I think they’ve managed to earn a great deal of money so far; nice to see people being so generous to those less fortunate.”

Jihl, despite her PR skills, somewhat loathed formal get-togethers regardless of how necessary they were. She’d rather be on the front lines with her agents but her skills were too valuable in this avenue to go to waste. So she’d done as was expected of her, dressed up to be beautiful and spent two hours so far laughing at bad jokes while touting NOVA’s necessity and successes to the most influential people in the city. She’d wager the evening had thus far been successful and not too terrible, but then she happened to spot a man who made her almost wish she still had her baton with her. 

Oliver Queen. Honestly, he was as big an outspoken critic of NOVA as he was a genuine irritant to anyone of good taste. But, she was here to play nice so she’d have to settle for the formal equivalent of showing her displeasure with him rather than asking him to step into a ring so she could kick him up and down it. “Mr. Queen, how lovely to see you.” she said, stepping up to him with a charming smile and plucking a flute of champagne from the table, “Standing by the drinks, what a surprise.” Her tone just the side of too sweet to make her words seem friendly.

Ted knew most people didn’t think he was that smart, but he was actually okay with that. He’d long ago come to terms with not being taken seriously (in several cases, his reputation was pretty well earned) but he was keeping tracks of figures who came and went in the city with his own tech in case he spotted any patterns. When he clocked one Oliver Queen coming within city limits he’d not passed it on to anyone (namely Dinah) and figured he’d wait a few days, figure out where he was and check in with the guy himself.

He and Oliver weren’t best friends but they were pretty close and had worked together in the past. He also knew the way to any vigilante’s heart (past or present) was via coffee, and with two cups in hand he used his elbow to knock on the other’s door one afternoon, grinning when the other opened it. “Hey there. I’m here for my pre-requisite nudge into your life to see what you’re doing and why and also get any gossip you may have and in return I offer you... coffee!” he declared the last, wiggling one cup slightly at the other.

How could he be so stupid? It was his first day at the Tavern and he already got lost. After shadowing Talon for a brief time, he was sent out to go and have his lunch and now, unfortunately, he couldn’t find the break room so he could actually have a lunch. Walking into another room, he realized he managed to find the stage and he noticed a figure working on... something - he wasn’t quite sure what it was - and decided that it wouldn’t hurt to ask for directions. “Hey, sorry to bother you,” the six-foot-seven body guard stated as he walked in the direction of the stage. “You know where the break room is? I keep gettin’ turned around here.”

Smiling softly, Oliver wrapped his arms around the man. “Hi, babe,” he said quietly before pressing a kiss to his temple. “Didn’t mean to wake you up, you look exhausted.” He rubbed Fred’s back tenderly. “How’d the launch go?”

Fred smiled tiredly against his neck. “Good,” he said softly, snuggling into him. “Long,” he sighed. “What’re you doin’?” He mumbled against the slightly stubbly chin. “S’the tour over? How’d y’do? Listened t’it all on radio,” he yawned again, and honestly thought he was going to fall asleep right there against the man.

Nate had wanted answers and frankly every part of him wanted to storm into St. Clair tower and question Nicolas St. Clair himself but past experience told him that would get him no where. The man would lie straight to his face before throwing him out on his ass. This...this was going to be better. This would give him gave him hope or closure. At least thats what he proceeded to tell himself as he climbed out of the truck and started towards the entrance of the bar. A cop friend had told him this was where Nate would find a decent amount of French Loyalist. The Italian stood there eyes scanning over the room, he could feel their eyes on him. He stood out, he knew that but didn’t care. His eyes narrowed on a blonde man, about his height and roughly the same build. Nate started over leaning against the bar beside, Nate didn’t look at him. “Where can I find someone who works for Nicolas St.Clair.”
