SUMMARY

Nelson Singhal and Roy Gardner are the two leads of Clarion Call, an aging rock band struggling to stay relevant in 1983. Nelson and Roy are constantly at each other’s throats, but are bound together through a shared guilt: their role in the death of Izzy Riles, Clarion Call’s former lead singer. On the 13th anniversary of Izzy’s disappearance, the band is set to tour their new album Jack of All Trades — a horror rock-opera and a thinly-veiled metaphor for their wish to bring Izzy back. After opening night, however, Roy and Nelson discover that their wish has been granted very literally. It quickly becomes clear that the convoluted lore of their own album now applies to them. If they want to keep Izzy among the living, blood will have to be spilled, and trades will have to be made that none of them anticipated…

clarion call would see a resurgence in popularity around 2010-2015 due to middle schoolers using the events of the jack of all trades tour as the basis for a widely popular creepypasta. this would result in fandom gatekeeping sounding like "I'm here because I actually like four more seasons. you're here because you were on deviantart making ms paint fanart of jack making out with ben drowned"
