one of these days i’m going to blow my head off on the sales floor of this grocery store in front of a bunch of people and someone from management or customer service will, with a put-upon sigh, pick up the phone and page retirement-age jeffrey from maintenance, who will arrive 40 minutes later with a mop and a bucket and maybe some sponges and he’ll unceremoniously scrub my brains off of the floor and the walls and the counters (i’d made a terrible mess), and as for the body, somebody will put some of those yellow cones and maybe a wet floor sign around it until they can produce a receptacle large enough to dispose of it in, which will probably take them a few hours, and when all’s said and done they’ll start looking through the online applications and they’ll hire an illiterate 25-year-old to be my replacement
