When 20th-century French psychoanalyst and urban philosopher Michel de Certeau gazed down at Manhattan from the 110th floor of the World Trade Center, he was overcome by the city’s curves, its crests, its collisions of history. “To what erotics of knowledge does the ecstasy of reading such a cosmos belong?” he asked, presumably stroking his chin.

Mister Saturday Night started in a Manhattan club in early 2008. A few parties in, we forged a new path, turning the Mister into a one-of-a-kind, grassroots experience. We rent a private party space, set up our own soundsystem and bring in our own friendly team to work the door and the bar – to make it feel like home. In 2011 we extended Mister Saturday Night into Mister Sunday, taking over the beloved, tree-specked space at 400 Carroll Street called Gowanus Grove. On Sunday July 29th we celebrated our 100th Mister ever. It’s true. We counted. This is a recording from that day, from about 6:30pm until 9pm. Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter, the party's founders and residents, played back to back to a whole bunch of happy people. And to top it off, at the end of their set, they arranged a big surprise, a full on performance by Brooklyn Steppers, a Brooklyn high school drum corps and step team. So good. We hope you enjoy. **Thanks to our buddy, Adam Kill Screen, for making the recording.
