He rolled his eyes in an exaggerated manner but couldn’t help the smirk playing on his lips. “I am going to steal a shirt of yours and I will be as dramatic as I please.” he said firmly, shrugging his shoulders a little. He was thankful that he had let him go but the pain was starting take over now – and it wasn’t exactly pleasant. “Yes, fine, but after I get myself a healing potion because I don’t have that kind of magic in my veins.” he said pointedly as he wiped off his blood on his sleeve. Easy for the idiot to tell him that he was fine when he healed in two seconds. “Jax, you really fucking need to stop talking about her.” he told him icily as he put on his seat belt, his tone one of warning, which he was certain the other would recognize. There was a lot he hadn’t told his friend about what happened between him and Issy a few months ago. And he was certain that if he knew he wouldn’t have to endure his constant teasing but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to tell him. “Just shut up and drive, okay?”
Okay, so Stefan was definitely going to kill him by the end of this. That much was obvious. And sure, maybe Jax would deserve it, but it wasn’t like Stefan wouldn’t heal once he was doped up on a strong enough healing potion. “Okay, fine. But only cause you’re pretty. And I like it when you wear my shirts.” He made a face, clenching his fists at his sides at an attempt to hold back from socking that stupid smirk off his face again. Jax loved the dude, he really did, but Stefan could be a cocky asshole at the most inopportune times. “And don’t make me remind you that you’re the one who fucked up in the first place. I’m not sorry for punching you when you deserve it.” But he’d be lying if he said he didn’t feel bad at all for hurting Stefan. Even though he did get a little crazy with throwing punches, the guilt he felt was still very real, and he knew that as soon as they got home he would be playing doctor to Stefan. Pulling out of the parking lot, he continued to glance over every other second, worry evident in his gaze. “You’re not going to pass out on me, right?” He asked hesitantly, eyes moving back to the road as he continued to drive in silence. The air between them was thick with tension and he hated it, even though he knew he would literally die for this guy.
Pulling into the driveway, his anger had subsided slightly but not completely. Above all, though, he was hurt. “Hey, did I mention Chloe’s back?” He finally spoke up as he got out of the car, helping wrap an arm around Stefan’s shoulders as he lifted the guy out of the car. “Yeah, your timing sucks.” He grumbled, shutting the car door behind them and helping Stefan inside the apartment. “Did you leave some potions here?” He called out from the bathroom, already making a beeline for the first aid kit, figuring that Stefan would help himself to whatever he needed.
