In the past I’ve never been able to keep betta with other fish, the ones I’ve had have been too aggressive. But not only is my current boy not hyper aggressive, but he genuinely likes being in a tank with the rasbora. In a weird way I think he got bored??? When he was in a tank by himself. Now he likes to watch them zoom around. I haven’t seen him flare once and he doesn’t even chase the shrimp anymore lol

Found this incredibly funny but also educational. Don’t put your betta fish or ANY fish in a bowl. Minimum 5 gallons y’all!! If you can’t afford the minimum requirements, don’t get the pet 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Im not being insensitive, pets are a luxury and if you can’t afford the things they need, you are torturing that animal.

@dreams-in-daylight yeah I’m pretty sure I know what did it, I removed it and replaced it with a plant. No new scratches so far so fingers crossed

Capt. Crunch is the most curious betta I’ve ever had I think. He has decorations I’ve used in other tanks with no problems yet he still manages to scratch up BOTH sides of his face. Guess it’s nothing but silk plants forever now lol

I have kept betta for a very long time and I promise you these were abrasions. They are starting to heal up but I know the difference between a fish flaring and when they’ve scraped themselves, they’re also not his markings like someone else suggested. Thank you for trying to help but I promise you they’re scrapes.
