“ Ah!-- Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s time for Christmas! It’s the most wonderful time of the year. ♪ ”
ragged-echo:
“That’s really cool, but I don’t think a doll can really be magical,” she laughed. “It’s learning about like history and philosophy, it’s mostly about learning of monsters and how we came about ‘n junk. Seems boring, but I find it interesting.” SHe shrugged. “No, but a lot of people told me I need to learn. And humans are apparently the easiest creature to fight, so.”
“C’mon,” he wished he had his wand in hand to tap her nose like his elders would back home, “you really are magical if you believe so.” Jacobe listened attentively to her explanation of the branch of studies, actually finding the foundation of the branch of studies to be interesting. “It doesn’t seem boring to me. And even if it did, as long as you like it, that’s all that really matters -- yeah?” He lightened the subject -- his specialty, anyhow.
“As I have heard,” he agreed, “though I think it’s more beneficial for us to co-exist alongside them rather than fight. But that may be my liberal pacifist roots showing. ♪“
kingsmandemon:
He looked into the sea that were his eyes, he’d never quite got lost in anyone else’s except for his, for some strange reason it intrigued him. He saw the way he ducked his head for a moment after their silent interaction, he could help but smile again. “Hmm, sort of.” he said to the other, “Because if we we’re to make a deal, I would have to collect your soul, and something tells me you’re not willing to give that up so easily.” he said to the other.
“You’re a wise fae.” he complimented.
Tracing his jawline upwards to where his eyes met those of chocolate, the young man couldn’t help but gaze for a moment -- discovering its light flicker from that of a flame. Could it be passion or his being, one was uncertain -- but in return, his eyes naturally sparkled -- maybe more so for another reason. “Sort of?” Jacobe inquired, wondering as to how much depth truly lied in something as seemingly simple as a deal. “In that, are you saying there’s something about my soul that you like? I’m positive you have a taste in souls -- I can’t see you being that desperate. But why does it have to be involved in everything?-- I’m just talking wings, anyway. ♪“
“Wise? I’d say it’s more of common sense. Surely, you would agree; I mean, you spend quite a bit of time with them, right?”
molierecorbin:
Corbin cocked his head to the side. “Who knew they could be so… masculine.” He shook his head, leaning back on a wall. “I’m not saying that you didn’t exist. Just very rare from my run-ins.”
Jacobe tucked his arms underneath each other, lightly blushing from the intent observations of his appearance. “Now you do.” The following statement failed to shock him, but in order to lighten up, he commented, “Consider me your diamond in the rough.”
ragged-echo:
“You will. I enjoy all kinds of company, don’t you worry. Great, then let’s hit it.’
“Ooh, Magic seems so fun, but it’s something my tiny brain can’t really wrap itself around. I’m in my sophomore year of Liberal Studies and I’m taking.,, Lemme see my schedule because I don’t remember…” she takes out the paper. “Oh, okay level two History of Monsters, fighting against Humans, and philosophy. Might be more later, who knows.”
“Oh, I won’t. Maybe I’ll be your good luck charm. ♪ On our way, then.”
“I’ve always been surrounded by magic, so it comes naturally to me -- besides, we all are a little magical in our own ways. kingsmandemon:
He laughed at his pun. “Indeed,” he said to the other male. When he was done, he looked up to the baby blue eyed fae, for a moment it was like his eyes sparkled. He looked away and then looked back, it was still there. He went back to paying attention to what he was saying, “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.” he said with a small smile.
“Never underestimate such cliches.”
Silence befell them, eyes gazing into one another, which caused the fae to shyly break contact for just a moment. There was something about the way he looked at him that brought upon a brief apprehensiveness; however, it ceased for the time being as the young man proposed the revelation of their wings. “Is that a deal?” Jacobe reflected the small yet lively simper.
“Why, I never believe humans and their silly 'fairytale’ cliches. Everything is not what they seem. ♪“
kingsmandemon:
He bit his lip, “Well, demons do have a way of surprising people.” he said with a look that could turn most creatures, just a little sinful. He began to walk around the fae, “Am I curious,” he began, “How do you hide your wings?” he asked the fae and looked back at him.
“Well, I hope you’re not all that good. Maybe I’ll rub some sins onto you.”
“Isn’t that why demons are known to be so devious?” He implied of the devil, hoping his humorous play on words was received. Baby blue eyes followed the figure circling him, catching a brief glance of the expression across his face; to say the least was that it intrigued him. “Magic,” Jacobe wiggled his fingers mysteriously, offering a placid smirk.
“As the legend goes -- not good enough for Heaven, but not evil enough for Hell. ♪”
kingsmandemon:
He couldn’t help but smile at the other guys smile, he didn’t know why he just did. He laughed a bit with his comment, “Please, I think I need it.” he said to Jacobe. “I could use some good in my life,” he said with a smile as he grabbed his hand.
Playfully smirking, partly due to his mischievous fae nature, an eyebrow suddenly rose when he mentioned needing some goodness. My, the young man was composed of surprises -- hurling them one following the other at him. “Never thought I’d hear a demon say that,” he commented, meaning well, but hopefully it hadn’t come across in a snide way.
“I am known for good luck after all. Who knows -- you just might be lucky yourself. ♪“
ragged-echo:
“That’s really sweet of you, but I don’t think it will be necessary. I have enough for maybe one or two drinks. We’ll see.”
“Thanks, it was picked specially for me. So, what classes are you taking?”
“Either way, hopefully I’ll provide you with good company. I’ve been needing a night out on the town, anyway.”
“Well, for starters, I’m a sophomore at the School of Magic. I’m taking Level Two of History of Witchcraft and Latin, Fighting Against Monsters, and Level One of Disappearing & Hiding -- and I believe that’s it? Haha, what about you?”
kingsmandemon:
He smiled at the other, he hadn’t known a fae before so why would he assume before getting to know one. He wanted to learn from a completely different point of view of magic, and it was college. It was certainly the time to experiment with life and his actions. “Jacobe,” he repeated softly.
“I’m sorry, I’m Cedric, Cedric Kingsman.” he said to the other holding out his hand to shake it.
Positivity emitted from the young man embraced the fairy, vacating his heart of anxiety to that of tranquility. Never before had he met a demon such as this one, and thus far, he was creating a good impression on the brunet. Jacobe reflected the smile appearing across his face, waiting patiently to hear his name -- whether it be his authentic demon name or a human name he upheld, like he did. “It’s nice to meet you, Cedric.” He softly grabbed onto his hand and shook it delightedly.
“Be careful, or my fairy dust might rub off on you. ♪“
kingsmandemon:
He wasn’t like the other demons he’s known, he was always the outcast because he would sometimes cared about the others he would reap when he made deals. Care was a bit too, nice. More like tolerated. He nodded, “Thank you,” he was always taught to respect his elders. Although, he might have been older but, still.
“I would like that,” he said to the other guy. “Oh,” he said and then quickly answered the other. “I don’t care about what you are, even if you are the exact opposite of me.”
His previous assumptions about his character proved to be false; perhaps, for once, this young man was sincere with his words. Besides, Jacobe was already flattered towards the simple fact that someone had requested him to be their mentor of sorts -- a compliment since magic was indeed his forte. “You’re welcome,” he offered a small smile in his direction. Gratefully, the student hadn’t poked fun at his being of fae -- it was a normalcy to expect. “I don’t think I’ve introduced myself yet. I’m Jacobe.”
“And you are?”
kingsmandemon:
He nodded, “Magic, as well.” He said to the other. He bit his lip, “Maybe you could be my mentor or something?” he said to the other. He then thought to himself, He’s a 2nd year and has no time for freshmen. Take it back now. “You’re probably really busy though and we don’t really practice the same magic either…” he trailed off “Forget about it,”
He nodded in symphony with the fellow brunet, transfixing his emotionless gaze to that of utter shock. Had he really asked him, of all the species in the university, to mentor him? Flattering it may be, Jacobe remembered that demons were misleading -- then again, how could he be so quick to judge? If his fairy family were present, they’d surely smack his head with their wand. “I’m honestly not that busy, but-- hey. At least give me a chance to talk, yeah?”
“We may not practice the same magic, but I can still help you out with the freshman courses,” he lightened up. Apprehensive to address, he felt the need to -- “I mean, would you be okay with an, um... fairy?”
kingsmandemon:
He nodded, Cedric could see the shift in his attitude once he said that he was their to work on his people skills. “Thanks? I think..” he said to the other. “What’s your major?” he asked the other.
Sensing awkwardness between them, Jacobe had planned to switch the subject when the other student decided to do so in his place.-- Thankfully. “Magic. In my second year here. Yourself?”
molierecorbin:
Corbin shook his head, not laughing just yet. “I figured you would be feminine and petite.”
Here we go again. He detested this stereotype, but his mind opened enough to see from another’s perspective; though, it doesn’t mean it wasn’t an annoyance. “Nope,” the brunet responded, “not particularly feminine or petite. Alas, here I am – a male fae, for we actually exist.”
kingsmandemon:
“Ok, that did seem a little narcissistic but, can you blame me? I am a Demon after all.” he said to the other trying to validate his attitude. “That’s kind of why I’m here. I need to practice my…” he stopped trying to look for the right words. “..people skills?” he looked over to the other to look for an accepting expression on his face.
“--Demon?” Jacobe’s demeanor abruptly shifted, leaning towards a display of defensiveness. Fae and his kind were polar opposites -- it was undeniable to clearly see their differences. Yet, as the other man explained his intended practice for freshening up his people skills, his guard gradually ceded. “Well...” he started, “you‘re nice enough, so those people skills you’re learning must be working. And I mean that in a good way.”
