Only a few days in a new town and she had not only talked to a few people, but one had even asked to spend time with her. The concept put her in a state of disbelief, for a girl who had spent most of her life in a library and who called books her friends for the longest time.. She was doing pretty dang good. This was more social activity then she had done in her entire life time.. All wrapped up in a week ish. As they walked across the threshold she saw him glance down to the sign on its frame and gave a assuring smile, “Don’t worry.. As long as you have a good heart and good intentions it’ll let you past..” she smiled softly and nodded to the bar stool at the kitchen’s island, “There’s a seat there or..” she pursed her lips and looked around the practically empty room, “There’s that one couch..” she murmured.
Initially unable to to enter, Jacob assumed that her words were an invitation, as they let him step inside. As he took a seat on the bar stool, Jacob felt that familiar ache in his gums, that bloodlust kicking in. He turned to hide his face, not used to hiding these kinds of things. It was all too easy to forget how to control himself when he was out and about like this, especially while he was still pretending to be human. "So, um, I'm guessing that you aren't used to hanging out with new people, huh?" he asked her with a forced chuckle, looking everywhere in the room but her. He couldn't risk her seeing him that way.
