Quick question and I'm really trying to be as civil as possible but why are you so obsessed with proving that frozen is such an amazing film? Like look I liked it but Disney has made better films than it before it was made that deserves more credit like tangled for example. Also frozen wasn't that good, there was so many plot holes. Plus I think it's dumb that they are tearing down maelstrom all for the sake of frozen. You can like the film all you want but just keep in mind it isn't the best.

…except that I’m not obsessed with proving it’s an amazing film? Pointing out the hypocrisy that some people who hate it have =/= trying to prove that it’s a great film.I honestly couldn’t care less if someone doesn’t like it, I know that film enjoyability is subjective and there are plenty of films that other people like that I don’t for whatever reason (like Rise of the Guardians, for example) but the difference is that unless someone actually specifically comes to me and asks me why I don’t like it I just won’t talk about how much I don’t like it because what’s the point? I’d rather talk and post about something that I do like than something that I don’t.

What I do get annoyed with is the selective bias and hypocrisy that certain people show when they talk about why they didn’t like it as well as the fact that some people have pushed it so far that they’ve set up entire blogs solely dedicated to churning out post after post full of this selective bias and hypocrisy to the point that it’s like… holy shit calm down it can’t possibly be this healthy to spend so much time and energy devoted to complaining about how much you hate a movie especially when it grows to such a hyperbole that you get people literally posting stuff like “if I had a time machine I wouldn’t go back in time to kill Hitler, I’d go back to make sure Frozen never existed” and “I want to buy my niece a doll of a better princess for christmas but wrap it in Frozen wrapping paper just to see the disappointment on her face that she’s not getting a toy from a shitty movie”

Beauty and the Beast is by far one of the most beloved movies of all time and it’s absolutely riddled with plot holes that to this day nobody who worked on the movie can actually explain, and I’ve never seen anyone go “Beauty and the Beast is a bad movie because they don’t explain how nobody in the town noticed an abandoned castle right next to them and how the prince has a painting of his adult self in the forbidden wing even though he would’ve been transformed into the beast when he was 11, #AntiRoseSquad”

also I really wouldn’t use Tangled as an example of a movie that deserves “more credit” considering it was and still is one of the most popular and financially successful animated films in the past decade and is getting its own tv series plus the recently opened cruise line musical so…

plus Tangled has its own set of plot holes (Why did Gothel tell Rapunzel when her birthday was if she knew about the floating lanterns? Where did the flower even come from? How did Gothel know the exact song she needed to sing to activate its powers? Where did the tower even come from?) as does literally every other movie in existence

tl;dr I really don’t care if people don’t like Frozen, I just get annoyed when people hate it purely for the sake of hating it. Pointing out how hypocritical (”I hate Frozen because it doesn’t have a diverse cast. Everyone go see How to Train Your Dragon 2 in cinemas, it’s such an amazing film!”), biased (”Frozen is a bad/mediocre movie and that is a fact because I say it is. Never mind the vast majority of film critics and audiences who completely disagree with me!”) or flat-out wrong (”literally nobody is buying Frozen merchandise any more, Disney is throwing money away!”) some of these people are isn’t me trying to “prove” how amazing of a film it is.
