A Boy Reading (c.1795). Ramsay Richard Reinagle (English, 1775‑1862). Oil paint on canvas. Tate.
The picture shows a young boy, perhaps age seven, reading or studying a portfolio. It probably depict one of the artist’s own sons, of whom we know he had at least three and one of whom, George Philip Reinagle, was to become a painter himself.
Thomas Edwin Mostyn (1864-1930) - The Green Gown.
" I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields , that it kisses them so gently? And it covers them up snug you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says: Go to sleep, Darlings, til the summer comes again." ~ Lewis Carroll
The Dark Hedges ,Bregagh road near Armoy in County Antrim. - Northern Ireland ~ this is an avenue of ancient Beech trees called the Dark Hedges, in Antirm, Ireland. They are as beautiful in the prime of spring as they are ominous & mysterious when their leaves have fallen ... and, depending upon the quality of light, the ambiance of the road becomes either like entering a fairytale or taking the road to doom!
