Women in Music Holiday Party
December kicks off the start of the holiday madness, shopping, family, and yes the holiday parties. My holiday season was kicked off with the Women in Music Holiday Party.
Women In Music is an organization with a mission to advance the awareness, equality, diversity, heritage, opportunities, and cultural aspects of women in the musical arts through education, support, empowerment, and recognition. This year’s party was held at the popular music venue Le Poisson Rouge, in the west village. The party featured Cherie Lily, DJ Shannonigans, and DJ Jackie Smiley and a live performance by major label recording artist BETTY WHO! The event also held a silent auction to benefit the organization.
There was an abundance of music, food, specialty cocktails, friends, dancing, and raising money for an amazing cause. (womeninmusic.org)

I was first introduced to Rebecca Szymczak and BEX NYC flipping through the September 2012 issue of Curve Magazine. BEX NYC is an intimates lifestyle brand founded by Rebecca Szymczak and her wife Anne Neczypor.
Rebecca is no new comer to the fashion industry. Her vast fashion experience consists of designing for DKNY and Nike to presiding as the Creative Director of Playboy licensing. Her love of fashion and empowering women through fashion inspired her to create BEX NYC.
The provocative, yet sophisticated, collection has statement pieces like the Reversible Satin Bolero Jacket and an Ostrich Bolero Jacket. They have accessories like fingerless, leather opera gloves. And of course, the collection carries sexy bustiers, push up bras, and lace thongs. Rebecca says the line was inspired by the desire to push the boundaries of traditional gender roles, utilizing men inspired details on feminine and sexy silhouettes. Mission accomplished!
I’m so in love with this collection, and I’m not the only one! Broadway and television actress Erin Cummings and Real Housewives of New York star Luann De Lesseps are fans of the sensual collection also. In addition to being featured in Curve, BEX NYC has been featured in Maxim Magazine and 50 Shades Magazine. Pamela Gonzales Spring 2014 Debut
Sure the fall season just started, but the fashion industry is all in a tizzy about spring 2014. One designer I’m particularly thrilled about is Pamela Gonzales.
Pamela Gonzales is a Peruvian designer based in New York City. Since debuting at Nolcha Fashion Week 2012, her designs have been featured in Vogue Latin America, The New York Times, and WWD.
As champagne flowed to fashion buyers, press, and the who’s who in fashion, Pamela Gonzales debuted her spring 2014 collection. The event was held at Pamela Gonzales Soho, which opened last year after her successful debut at Nolcha Fashion Week. Vibrant colors, metallics, and earth tones were the theme for the 2014 spring collection. It embodies a certain edge, while maintaining elegance.
