- How would you describe your desired relationship?
My desired relationship would be with someone who can see the real me. Not the one attached to the name or the family, but the me that has always felt like I don’t fit in there. Someone who treats me with kindness and respect, who chooses compassion over cruelty. Mostly, I want someone who puts in the effort, without expecting something extra in return.
- In addition to love and affection, what are your main reasons for wanting a relationship?
Part of it is vanity and insecurity. I am... reaching an age where being single is no longer acceptable, at least to the people in my circles. While part of me would love a prince(ss) to sweep me off my feet, I have to be pragmatic about this sort of thing. At least this way, with the anonymity, I can almost pretend it’s like the fairytales.
- What is most likely to make you interested in someone?
A willingness to treat a relationship as a balance. When a person gives just as much as they take. Being able to admit mistakes, even if it’s just to themselves. Someone who is genuine. The sneaky ones think that we can’t tell, but I have a sixth sense about that sort of thing.
- Let’s say you and your partner have been invited to a friend’s wedding. As you get ready for the party, which thoughts are you most likely to be thinking?
That I hope my friend is happy, and that nothing ruins the day for her. And yes, I would be thinking about when it would be my chance to have my day. I don’t imagine other people wouldn’t. But I also wouldn’t be selfish enough to ruin my friend’s day with that.
- Why do you think you’re single?
Ha, would you like the long version or the short version? My upbringing played a part, not being able to step out on my own until far later than I should have, a very unpleasant end to my last relationship. There are many reasons why I’m single, but I would say it’s more relevant to ask what I’m doing about it. And that’s what signing up on this website was supposed to do.
- If you find a book or article particularly interesting, do you want your partner to read it as well?
I wouldn’t force anyone to do something if they really don’t want to, but at least some general interest would be... considerate. But I’m quite used to having my interests dismissed so I really wouldn’t be missing anything I suppose.
- What do you think about cheating in a relationship?
Well... this is complicated. Because while I’d like to say that I would never, that would just make me a hypocrite. I suppose the answer is.. I wouldn’t ever again. While I didn’t cheat on someone, I.. was willingly the other woman. Blinded by an older man, the same tragic story. I’ve seen firsthand the pain that cheating causes and I never want to be a part of that again.
- What do you want your partner to like about you?
Is it cheesy if I say everything? I want them to like the little things, the way I laugh or the type of tv shows I like. I just don’t want to have to pretend to be someone else, just to get them to like me. I’ve been doing that for too long.
- In BDSM, do you see yourself as a specific subtype (brat, sadist, pet, rigger…) or do you prefer exploration?
I don’t really know. Maybe pet? Or slave maybe? I like the idea of giving up total control but.. not all the time. I would lean into exploring though. I try to be open to new experiences.
- What draws your to your preferred BDSM role?
The fact that I don’t have a single Dominant bone in my body? I was raised not to ask for things. That if I wasn’t allowed to want. In some ways, I guess it turned into a thing where... I don’t know how to find pleasure if someone isn’t there to tell me I want it.
