Nic quickly learned that school wasn’t going to happen while being deaf, it just wasn’t going to work. In fact, part of him wanted to just drop school all together but being in his sophomore year, it was difficult to do that. Well, not difficult but his mother made it difficult seeing as they had a large argument that left Nic frustrated and slamming the front door as he started wandering the streets.
"I see you," Nic said as the person rounding the corner, heading towards the pier where he could sit quietly with no one bothering him this late at night.
Wholly blessed with the talent of being alone about 90% of the time, Eva had to get creative when it came to filling up lonely hours. That somehow equated to her walking around like some sort of stray dog, indulging in the American Spirits she smoked almost exclusively. A dirty habit, maybe, but one that kept her busy nonetheless. Bringing it to her lips, she followed it with her lighter. Inhaling, she sighed deeply. That was some good--
--Shit. She nearly tripped on her own feet at the sound of a voice, letting the cigarette fall from her lips to stamp it out, a demur expression crossing her face. Eva Jacobs? Smoking? Never. "Uh," she started, eyes finally settling on Nic, eyebrows furrowing. Was she supposed to exaggerate mouth to fit her words? "S'not mine."
