Had an introduction to the Art House (Wakefield) print room today. Starting with the basics, I have produced several dry-point prints using the image of 'the goddess' figure I have going at the moment.

Proposal and maquette(1) for 'Goddess' pieces.

The black caiman C. Waterton rode out of the South-American river and took home to be part of his uniquely taxidermied collection. (Currently at Wakefield Museum).

A concept drawing for a possible sculpture. I think I need to do more research before I find a direction, but I rather like the idea of ancient cultures/religion through the eyes of naturalists and modern institutions. I shall see what tomorrows meeting with the Wakefield museum curator brings.

So I am currently on the Art House residency in Wakefield. It just so happens that Charles Waterton, considered the first great naturalist is a local icon. Rather handy considering my line of artistic enquiry.
