The Best of HashtagLD: A Comic about Learning Disabilities by Emma Kent

‘The Best Of HashtagLD’ is available for sale online through lulu.com! This has been a long project in the making and it’s crazy to think that I don’t even have many of the original drawings anymore. I’m so excited for people to see it and so grateful for all the support this project has gotten over the years.

‘HashtagLD is a webcomic I created on the blogging website Tumblr.com. The comic explores the challenges of living with a learning disability for teens and adults, which came out weekly from March 2016, to November 2017. The comic has about one hundred entries, but this collection only contains what I feel is the best thirty.’

I'm Not a Princess

I'm not. And neither is the main character in the children's book I'm working on.

Maggie is a royal but they're not a princess. Or a prince. In the story they come to the understanding that they are non-binary.

I want to make Maggie's story feel as real and authentic as possible so I'm asking non-binary folks (particularly agender and genderfluid people) to share their stories with me about how you found your identity. If you feel comfortable, please reach out through my tumblr inbox!

I hope you'll be able to help bring Maggie's story to life!

High school students explain why they walked out of school | CBC News

Students across the province staged walkouts from class this afternoon to protest proposed changes to education by the Ontario government.

I voted against Ford and was so disappointed when he election in. It’s encouraging to see students stand up for is right and for what they believe in. Cuts in education will hurt all of us.

Hey guys!

I’m still slowly working on my child’s book ‘Daisy and the very big worry’ but I also wanted to gauge interest if I were to release a best of HashtagLD. It would be like a collect of 25-30 comics and the stories behind them.

What do people think?

I love books and stories and I made it by goal in 2018 to read 100 books. Which I complete dec 11. This year I plan to read 100 more. Included in my comics, was some of my favourite books I listen to last year.

I don’t care how people read or take in stories. I belive listing to book is reading and I love that I can read on the go. My favourite way to listen to audio books. Is through the Libby app through my local library since I’m on a budget.

I want to break down the idea that people who have Lds can’t be well read or book lovers. Yes, it can be harder abd some of us arn’t and that’s 100% okay.
