Western painted turtle I found in the middle of the road. The area he was headed to was previously a shallow valley, in the spring when the snow melts it turned into a small pond. Unfortunately, it has been filled in and they are building homes there. Just a few miles away in the opposite direction is a stream, I realesed him there. Its a great locaton, he'll be safe and with other turtles.
