p: sim jake x reader. g: fluff, lightly suggestive. wc: 561. cw: slightly suggestive towards the end but nothing really lmao, use of petnames.
synopsis: your boyfriend behaves akin to a child and then has the audacity to tell you that he is, in fact, not a five-year-old.
as wonderful as it is to have your one and only resting his head on your lap any time he finds you seated on the couch or bed to let you play with his head, it can make a speck of annoyance rise inside with all of the times he had insisted on occupying his designated resting space.
“jake, i will push you off.” said man who peers up at your face pulled into a displeased expression, a single brow raised in a testing manner, declares in an inviting tone, “is that a threat?”
Lin-Manuel Miranda is a legend, and he’s absolutely right.
And I really feel like there are parts of fandom that don’t get or don’t believe this, and I think that’s troubling. I’ve seen arguments that people shouldn’t have dark fantasies, or that bad impulses in themselves make a bad person. I’ve seen so much shaming over thoughts.
And if you get to a point where it’s bad to have dark thoughts and it’s bad to wonder what something would be like and it’s bad to put yourself in the shoes of anyone who isn’t “pure”, if fiction is no longer a realm where you can confront and explore, but an ongoing test of moral purity… well, maybe not everyone’s brain works like mine, but I feel like that takes away something incredibly important to being human.
Fiction is a safe place to explore whatever fucked up or dark desire that you have. You can write the most vile and fucked up shit in fiction and it be absolutely nothing you desire in real life. You can write about a serial killer who gets away with it. You can write about someone who goes on moral crusades to purge the world of all evils and still be the protagonist. You can write anything in fiction because that’s what it is meant for.
It isn’t meant to be a social commentary unless you create it to be.
It isn’t meant to be educational unless you create it to be.
Sometimes a story can be just that, a story. Entertainment. Nothing more, nothing less.
Not everything has to be deep, or have meaning, etc. unless the creator wants it to be and a lot of the purity types end up forcing something to have deep meaning or social commentary where it isn’t meant to. Is this inherently bad? No, but these people don’t just say “But this is my interpretation of it.” they go as far as trying to force that interpretation onto everyone else, including the creator, as a means of saying “See? It means that they promote/condone xyz so they’re bad and shitty people who should spend the rest of their life in jail with/are the same as people who’ve actually committed acts of violence against other people.”
@ all the people in the notes saying “yes except u can’t write about (list of immoral things they don’t want to see in fiction)” congrats on missing the point so spectacularly I’m not sure I could create better performance art if I tried
unpopular opinion: mental illness can make people behave in extremely toxic and sometimes even abusive or manipulative ways. relationships and friendships with mentally ill people can be extremely difficult, unpleasant, or even harmful. though this may not be intentional and i have sympathy for those who struggle with this, other people are allowed to remove themselves from your life for their own happiness and sanity. they are not bad people for this. the idea that someone *has* to stay with you while you heal or help fix you is wrong, people are allowed to prioritise themselves. it’s on you to seek therapy and heal. being mentally ill doesn’t give you a pass to behave in toxic ways and hurt others.

notes from space: series masterlist
synopsis: no god can answer sim jaeyoon's question on why you were standing in front of his door one morning and telling him something unrealistic—that you were an alien. you didn't look and sound like one, so he didn't buy it at first. meanwhile, you had a reason to be dropped off of his household by the disguised aliens for a reason. you had to succeed in a mission hidden from the humankind, especially to jake. not knowing about the worse that can happen, you were slowly getting too friendly to the being that you were supposed to call your enemy.
pairing: student!jake x alien!female reader

a/n: PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR THIS'LL BE A LONG RIDE. this installment has actually taken me five notes (because of the character limit) and i hope you don't get bored because i don't want to rush it unlike what i did to sunoo's (check this ask for the reference). anyways, here's our lovely puppy wolf jakey for the fourth installment of the series! inspired by incubus' song, stellar, i hope you enjoy this (even though it took me long lol)!
"meet me in outer space, we can spend the night watching earth collide."
you have never felt uneasy for the past eighteen years of your life.
you stood frozen in front of what humans called a "mirror", according to your father. your raven eyes roamed around the image being reflected in the strange contraption that was sent by his fellow headmasters from the earth to your planet, ebone. you let out an inhuman sound of confusion as you realized that no human has discovered your abode and have taken interest in it yet. no reports of rocket landings or "footprints".
you lock eyes with your reflection for a split second. your green, scaly skin was now peach-like and soft. you saw some dots on it here and there. you slowly lift your hand up in front of the mirror, noticing that your twenty fingers have been diminished into ten, and had colored tips on them. the same has happened to your toes. after examining them, you look back at the mirror and notice the prominently long bush of hair that hung down to your waist. it was brown and wavy. you proceed to inspect your face features that evidently replicated those of a humans—a pair of eyes with white sclerae and brown irises, a nose that had this unnecessary bridge, and a pair of lips that were colored bright red. you push back your hair into the human ears that sat on sides of your face, and you found this function kind of impressive.
lastly, your normally naked body was now covered in what humans called "clothing". the strange fabric hugged your body very comfortably, much to your relief. you squinted, noticing another feature that you didn't expect you'd have to disguise as a human—the two mounds of flesh stuck to your chest.
your anatomy class was cut short when your mother slides the mirror away from you. you gasp—a sound that you didn't think you'd make—in disbelief. "ma, i wasn't done yet!" you retort.
contrary to you being an extraterrestrial being, you have adapted the human language in your residence. one of your powers as the headmaster's daughter included your unlimited knowledge of languages. you didn't know why you were feared by the other aliens in the planet, when you were just being yourself. is it because of my mother's antics again?
"we don't have much time, my daughter." your mother, who was in her original form, replied as she looks at you from head to toe. "we have to hurry."
you were the chosen one to be sent out of ebone, and to earth for a very important mission. the reason? your father was so preoccupied with his subordinates who apparently gave him a hard time. sure, you've got what it takes to withstand the human world, but were you ready? this was what your father didn't consider. you had no choice but to comply, because at the end of the day, he still had more power and authority than you did.
to prepare you for the mission, he supplied you with almost all the knowledge about earth that existed. he wanted you to blend in and be one with the citizens so that no one gets hurt. he made sure that you can change back to your alien form, and back, and vice versa. you had powers in hand, so he's put a lot of trust in you. though you were still hesitant, you knew that he had good intentions towards the humans. he's your father, after all.
you nervously held onto your mother's hands, somehow seeking comfort from the sight of her face. "can i contact you once anything bad happens?" you asked. she nodded, feeling for her daughter's new form. "we'll be here, my sweetheart."
you smile at each other reassuringly. she then ushered you to the teleporting pod, where your father was standing beside. he nods at you. "i wish you the best of luck, my daughter."
being a human was strange. you had to deal with a beating sound inside your chest whenever you got nervous, and you were experiencing it now. you step in the open pod with confidence, and peer at your parents' smiling faces. the pod closes slowly, signaling that you were ready to go.
"i'll be fine." you mouth to your parents with a smile, closing your eyes and letting unconsciousness take over you.
it's six in the morning. the alarm clock of the master's bedroom's blaring like a bitch.
jake definitely did not think this through. today has become officially the worst day of his life. why did he burn himself out in soccer practice yesterday when he has a scheduled physics finals the next day? he stared lethargically at the white ceiling of his bedroom as he let the alarm sound fill his ears. he couldn't move a muscle without feeling a jolt of pain.
"just... want to... move a hand." he gritted his teeth, ignoring the torturous pain of his pulled muscles as he holds onto his headboard for dear life.
he peeked at the window and saw that the sun was almost up, and boy, he was going to scream if it weren't for his sleepyhead housemate, jay. strings of curses filled the room as he exerts his residual strength to be able to stand on his feet. with wobbly legs, he trudges to the noisy alarm clock and turns it off with an aching finger. "guess i'll have to start my day this way then." he sighed, proceeding to walk to the living room with laborious motions.
to his surprise, there was no chef wannabe jay in sight—no shuffling sounds in the kitchen, no one telling him to get his ass up to eat breakfast, or a justin bieber track being played as food was being prepared. strangely silent, if you ask him. assuming that his housemate has went to school early.
he stood silent in front of the refrigerator, still thinking about whether he should ask a ride from a friend or just call in sick, given his physical condition. he loved physics so much, but the coach just had to get his best striker ready (a.k.a. lowkey straining him). he never thought about his two most beloved things being something that he sometimes would hate the most.
not wanting to take a special exam, he just opted to call a friend for a ride.
he sighed, grabbing the bowl of kimchi fried rice that jay has apparently left for him. of course, he would. proceeding to eat his breakfast peacefully, his muscles still hurt, especially his legs that were almost numb.
once he has finished his bowl, he then goes to wash it as a sign of respect to the cook. "i gotta treat him some dessert after this." he whispered, drying off his wet hands. job well done, jake.
soft knocks were heard as he turns the faucet off, startling him slightly. who could be visiting at this hour? latching his hand onto the fridge, he hops to the door as the knocks increase in volume. fuck. despite the excruciating pain of his muscles and the shaking of his legs, he moved, almost toppling over jay's snowboard leaning against the doorframe as he took hold of the knob.
with a slight haste, he swung the door open, revealing...
"hi, i'm an alien." ...a woman?
despite his confusion, he couldn't help but lock eyes with the strange woman standing straight on his veranda—you. for a moment, he felt like he was stunned and sent flying to space as he stared into your almost pitch black irises. you, on the other hand, were showing the boy the most subtle of your powers as you went and regulate his rising heartbeat, bringing it back to normal with a snap.
"excuse me, a what?" jake shook his head and squinted at you, genuinely intrigued by the only word he had picked up from your statement—"alien". "do you mind repeating yourself for me, miss?"
weren't aliens a thing from games? did they really exist after all? if she's an alien, why does she look human? why does she speak human? and why is she wearing my school's uniform? why won't she stop staring? why is she in front of my house? he had tons of questions in his head as he observed you from head to toe. nothing strange.
"your questions can wait later, mr. jake sim." you said out of the blue, startling the lad. you actually had fun reading his thoughts, but according to your father, this had limits. "how did you know my—" he scatted, standing straight as he was in an awkward position since earlier. "miss, have you been stalking me?" he asked firmly, searching for signs of mischief in your face. unfortunately, he found none. "okay, i guess you weren't."
"i actually don't know why my father—" you stop, realizing that "father" was too formal in earth. "my dad, i mean—made my teleporting pod land here in this area." you point to the ground as you spoke, for the sake of emphasis. "and yours was the house nearest to it. believe me when i say that i'm not as haughty and sneaky as you humans think and i was brought here, well... to make friends."
he can't believe he's listened to your rambling despite being a total stranger. nonetheless, he tiptoed, looked around for a sign of the pod you were talking about, his chest so dangerously close to your face that you can hear his heart beating, his breathing, and all the systems of his body working from the inside.
"please do not bother looking for it." you said, gently bringing his shoulders down with your hands. the fact that your touch felt human shocked him. "i made it disappear."
"okay, let's get this straight, miss..." he let his statement float, and you quickly assumed he was asking for a name. "y/n!" you reply immediately. he nodded, and you took it as a sign of friendliness. are humans really this unpredictable? "y/n. right." he continued, hopping to his fridge. you took a look at his legs and noticed that they were shaking so hard. he's suffering from pulled muscles. "i need proof that you're really an e.t., or else i'll call the police on you."
proof? you froze. you look up from his legs and followed his figure with your stare. okay, guess the healing power can wait later. "as long as you close all of your blinds and doors, i'm willing to prove that i'm not of your kind." you answered, to which the boy replied with a scowl. nevertheless, he still managed to grab the remote control for the blinds, and they close in one press of a button.
"now, show me." he pursed his lips, looking over his shoulder, at the watch, displaying 6:30. "please make it quick, too. i have an exam to attend to."
you smiled assuringly at the boy as he beckoned you to come inside, closing the door behind him after. "don't freak out. this might terrify you." you warned, closing your eyes and let your powers work. jake was actually fascinated that he had to witness such an out-of-this-world feat, but he tried his best to keep a calm composure. after all, you were a stranger.
the way back to your alien form started with your hands, turning ten fingers into twenty. your real skin has made its reappearance after you've adapted the human body just a day ago. the uniform you wore has disappeared, too, to which the boy slightly covers his eyes from. you feel yourself going back to your real height as you sense the ceiling looking a bit closer to the top of your head.
after your morphing session was done, you look down at jake, whose eyes were still covered. "it's okay. you can take a look now." since you didn't have a human mouth, you spoke to him through telepathy. hearing that you've kept the human voice, he relaxed. he finally uncovered his eyes, preparing himself for the sight he was about to see.
you stood about nine feet tall, covered in green, scaly skin. you didn't wear any clothing, but he didn't consider you naked. mouth agape, he moved his stare up to your face. for a female alien, he found your head pretty big. the perimeter of your head was studded with small crystals, indicating that you were high in the hierarchy of ebone. your face resembled that of the alien emoji, and the resemblance was uncanny.
still fascinated by your true form, he locked eyes with you once again. he did not need any more proof. you were really an alien.
with concern for the human in front of you, you swiftly change back into your human form, much to his surprise. "jaeyoon-ah, you're going to hurt your neck staring at me like that." you chuckled heartily as you used his real name, patting him on the shoulder after. "see you at school!"
"yeah..." he trailed off, waving you goodbye as you briskly walked out of his door, closing it behind you.
oh, man, they really do exist. and she's my classmate too? holy shit. she's surprising. he proceeds to get ready for school, not noticing the sudden absence of pain in moving his limbs around.
"weren't you complaining about body pains earlier?" jay asked jake, slinging a lazy arm over his shoulder. the two walked side-by-side in the building corridors, earning stares from girls, especially the juniors. seeing the soccer team's captain and the school's it boy together was a deadly combination, and the whole campus can agree. "you good now?"
"yeah, thanks to your fried rice, man." jake replied, not actually knowing what to say after he noticed it while taking a shower. he had a feeling that it was your doing, but he wasn't really sure. "appreciated it."
"just get your ass up early without grumbling and i'd make you some more." the older answered, landing a playful punch on his friend's shoulder. "eat that physics final—"
"and leave no crumbs, yes." jake nodded, reaching out a fist for jay to bump. "yeah, man, i definitely will."
the two buds bumped their fists, which was then followed by their secret handshake (that they had to do without sunghoon because mans was apparently busy checking himself out in the bathroom mirror).
coincidentally, you had electives today. how did you get in school if you were an alien? prior to sending you out to earth, your father has once disguised himself has a human, too. he presented the principal with your carefully sourced records (even if it meant that he had to use some of his hypnotic powers to convince humans) and you are now considered a transferee.
you stare in spaces, still feeling uneasy in a planet you didn't live in. as you walked to your next class, you go through all the questions—deep thoughts that you've had for the past twenty-four hours. why do girls talk among themselves whenever a boy passes by? do boys only care about chasing girls? why are teachers mad at students for no reason? do these people believe in extraterrestrial life?
your train of thought stopped when jake suddenly crossed your mind. you touch your temples in an attempt to contact him, but then you remember that he wasn't an alien, and you weren't in ebone anymore. you sigh. you did need to learn more things. but why were you genuinely worried about him in the first place?
being a human was tiresome (at least, for an alien like you). school felt hectic, and students didn't feel as welcoming as you expected, either. you knew no one, except for jake, who, by the way, has found you lurking around the restricted area. luckily, he has pulled you out before the authorities spotted you. you've only known the guy for two weeks, and you had a lot to say about him. his thoughts were a mix of math and science problems, food, his dog, and some pretty personal thoughts about you. there was one that caught your attention—"am i actually attracted to her?"
was he? you knew for a fact that he treated you as a good acquaintance friend, and that he had good intentions towards you. the only thing that you found unsettling was him stealing glances at you during lunch time. jay—whom you also became friends with in the process—can sense it as well. however, only jake knew of your true identity.
your mission? fortunately, you have made progress without anyone noticing your out-of-this-world actions. you didn't realize how hard it was until you've made sufficient interactions with humans—also tiresome. "you have to warn them, my daughter. if you fail, the whole country will be wiped out."
you sat silently on the bleachers of the soccer field, attempting to make your contacting ability work to ask your father for help in the shaky situation you were having. however, the signal waves you sent have been interrupted by a string of screams ringing in your head.
your inhuman reflexes have sent you teleporting to the source of the sound, which, to your surprise, you didn't have control of. the first thing you worry about is if someone actually saw you appear then disappear in thin air.
you observed the spot where you landed, feeling a slight wobble in your head. you held onto the first thing that was in your reach to keep your balance, not minding if it was a person or an object. screams filled the whole place—the laboratory—while someone was wincing in pain beside you. you turned your head to see jay, almost begging you to loosen your grip on his arm. you gasp, immediately retracting your hand from the poor guy.
"yah, since when did you get here? i thought you were having your moment on the bleachers." jay's shout was dangerously close to your ears but you didn't mind. you fixed your eyes on the main reason of the commotion—a chemical fire.
you see a familiar face among the students who got their coats burnt. jake was struggling to put out the fire in his coat sleeve, and the panic started to crawl up in your nerves. the chemical fumes weren't helping with your system, either.
before a student, whose name is sunghoon, can grab a fire extinguisher to save his best friend, you have already used your neutralizing power to get rid of the fire (rather discreetly), much to the student's surprise and jake's relief. the screams have died, and peals of sighs were heard. he definitely knew it was you.
the students were ordered to leave the room, but you and jake remain. the smoke was clouding your vision, and the laboratory was now empty. holding his partially burnt coat, he stepped closer to you, who was in awe of how he looked.
before you knew it, you were scrutinizing the good-looking lad in front of you. the way his hair parted slightly to the side, his puppy eyes, and his thick, plump lips that curled up whenever he smiled. even the way he stood in front of you was so attractive. the poor chamber inside your ribcage was working hard to not make you faint. what is this feeling? why is my heart thumping so fast? you clutch your chest in hopes to neutralize the rising pressure in your blood, but unfortunately, jake was now holding the crook of your shoulders with his strong, firm hands.
you didn't experience any warmth and care from humans until this moment. you always thought they were enemies. "you came." he said, voice deep as the black holes you've seen in the cosmos. "thanks for saving my ass, y/n."
you smiled slightly, relieved that your friend was unscathed. thank heavens you're alive, jake. "it's no..." your words went to a halt as he wrapped his arms around your shoulders. you scowled in confusion as he proceeded with his ministrations. "... problem." what is this action? is this humans' token of gratitude? nevertheless, you were able to feel his warmth, hear his beating heart, his body systems working, and the uneasiness of his breaths. in addition, you can clearly read his thoughts as he extended the still unknown action to you.
man, i think i kinda like her. it's just been half a month. do i? or am i just fascinated by the fact that she's an alien? what if it was forbidden to like her? she's not even from this planet, but i'd like to get to know her more. damn.
"it's called a hug." jake beat you to it with this statement. he pulled away from you, keeping his composure even though you knew that he was about to explode deep inside. good feat, jake. "it serves many purposes, and humans need eight of them for maintenance. that's one for you." it wasn't really necessary but i did it. i hugged her. i gave an alien a hug.
you were suddenly reminded of your mission looking at the scattered crystal and rock samples on the floor. you then gave jake an almost warning look as he continued to talk about the therapeutic effects of hugs. you had to hint him on the danger that was about to come.
"can i come over to your house?" you nonchalantly asked. it was now or never. you then shut your eyes closed, not wanting to see a negative reaction from jake. why am i flinching? i'm supposed to be assertive. i'm an alien, for heaven's sake. "i just wanted to talk about something."
"i don't mind." he replied rather immediately. he averted his gaze from you in attempts to hide the blush in his face. i do mind. i don't want her to see me acting like a simp in front of jay. "you need help with homework?"
"eh?" you mused. having been able to read his thoughts for the whole period that you were alone together, you were genuinely confused. sim jaeyoon, you did not just say that.
dumb. why did i ask her that? he chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. "nah, i know it's not about homework. anyways, it's getting toasty." he deeply sighed, fanning himself. damn, why am i still staring? "wanna get out of here?" you immediately shook your head, attempting to use your alone time to think about your mission. "you go ahead. i'm fine."
"alright, if you say so." he smiled, patting your shoulder again. "see you later, y/n." the lad walks out of the messy laboratory with careful steps. once he's closed the door behind him, it was time continue on with your mission.
"y/n, come in!"
instead of jake, it was jay who welcomed you to the door of their shared house. jake didn't tell me she was serious about coming here. the boy was half-asleep, holding a bag of popcorn in between his arm.
"thanks, jay." you replied, stepping into the house and spotting the back of jake's head projecting from the couch. "i won't be long, though. anyways, may i know what time it is?" you added, still keeping your mission in mind. i have to be right on time, or a big mass of population will die. "8:20."
you nod, taking quiet steps to the couch. unfortunately, your person of interest was asleep. how do i wake him up? you took a seat beside jake then poked his cheek. no response. you gently shake him by the shoulder. again, no response. you place a palm on his head, checking his vitals. his heartbeat was normal, airway clear, blood pressure also normal.
hearing your sigh, jay then stood up from his seat, walking to the stairs. he bellowed, "he kept waiting for you, y/n. i'll go study. take care of him for me, okay?"
"i will." you mouth as jay trudges upstairs. you turn to the sleeping lad beside you, leaving you no choice but to use your energizing power on him. "jakey." you whisper. jake shoots up from his seat, eyes wide and breaths erratic. he had no idea how long he'd been asleep, and he was more shocked by your sudden appearance beside him.
your face was dangerously close to his, and he can feel your breath against his skin. damn, she's cute. "y/n... you scared me." he panted, hands clutching his chest. "are you here to say your thing to me? i'm genuinely curious."
i'm here to save you, jake. once and for all. "mm-hmm." you nodded. "what's that on the screen?" you pointed at the rectangular thing sitting in front of the couch. "that's called a movie," the boy replied, pressing a button on the remote control. "and i don't like it. jay picked it for me, though."
you laugh. you rarely see his pout, but it looked so beautiful on him. however, it might be the last time you'll see his face. your laughs die down. you realized that you couldn't stay long—that after your mission, it was time to go back to ebone. time to go back to living your routinely life.
"anyways, i'm gonna let that shit play." jake shrugged. "background noise."
it was now 8:25. ten more minutes until chaos kicks in. jake leans his head on your shoulder, which you didn't mind. after all, you were bound to leave his side. he switches to a new movie. you show him more of your powers.
8:28. you nudge jake's shoulder as you prepare yourself for what you're about to say to the boy beside you.
"i've hidden something from you." you tell him, causing him to shoot you a confusing stare.
"what is it?"
you took one long stare at his face, and you swore you were about to melt right then and there. you wanted to let out tears just like humans did, but you didn't feel things they did. you were just an alien.
"you heard about the 'shooting stars' students talk about in school, right?" you almost mumbled, hesitant with your own words. "yeah, what about 'em?" the boy scooted closer to you, attentively listening.
you didn't say a word. instead, you closed your eyes shut in an attempt to summoning your grandest ability—one that you haven't used before. your hands search for jake's, who was confused by your veins starting to glow a bright red. the boy's breath hitched, feeling the ground vibrate beneath his feet.
"y/n?" he called, but his voice was drowned out by the strong vibrations of the ground. you don't budge, and he was starting to get anxious. "what's happening?"
"i came here for a reason, jaeyoon." your voice echoes in jake's ears as the vibrations increased in intensity. the force field shall cover half of the country by now. "i have to protect you."
"from what?" he almost shouts, trying to overpower the sounds of the vibrating ground. "y/n, fill me in! i'm lost right now, please."
you open your eyes wide, staring intently at jake, whose face was laced with fear and worry. he stared back at you, your eyes glowing along with your veins. anyone who'd look at your current state would be mortified, but jake knew it's you and not another being. he knew he could trust you.
"an asteroid is about to hit you." you stated, not breaking eye contact with him. "my dad has seen the fate of this country, specifically this house. the asteroid is going to make its landing on this spot in just a few minutes. and my father sent me here to protect you."
8:30. jake couldn't believe what he was hearing. asteroid? the whole country? you knew he was scared, but he was keeping himself calm while your hands were still on his. "tell me more."
"you have to get jay. he's probably asleep and unaware right now but you have to stay beside him." you commanded, getting the boy to follow you. unlocking his hands with yours, you signal him to flee and wake up his housemate, to which he reacted to by rushing upstairs.
as jake disappears from your sight, you grunted unbelievably loud, seeing the force field you made cover three quarters of the country. i'll protect you. we're almost there. you'll be safe. you were practically giving all of your power out for a mass of people that doubted the existence of your kind. you wanted you blame your father for bringing you to this planet in the first place. he was the reason for your current struggle, and the reason why you were experiencing strange feelings for a particular human—sim jaeyoon.
you scream, letting your powers take over your body. you were literally curled up on the floor, body glowing a bright red as you feel the asteroid bounce back from the force field—that has now covered the whole peninsula—signaling that your mission was a success. your whole body was shaking, and you were seeing bright flashes of light despite the darkness of your environment.
you felt a sense of achievement despite the fact that you were about to lose consciousness, and that you were about to leave the only human you trusted the most.
"i did it... i've saved them, father." you mutter weakly, feeling yourself float into thin air.
it was time to go home.
two months have passed and sim jaeyoon was still depressed about an extraterrestrial human being disguised as a female he's been with for two weeks.
he can still clearly remember how he woke up that night, unscathed. he knew you've succeeded. jay was still asleep, who, as well, was not hurt in anyway. however, his happiness was short-lived when he saw no signs you in the living room. according to the teachers, you have apparently filed for a leave of absence. he was about to cry in the classroom at that moment if it weren't for jay and sunghoon giving him pitiful looks. they both know that he liked you, but you just had to leave at the worst moment.
now, he's running his ass off with the ball in his possession. eyes on the prize, jake. you have to win this championship. his eyes fixed on the goal post that was meters away from him, guarded by a goalkeeper from the other team.
three minutes until timeout and his team has scored two goals, and he has succeeded in getting the third one. as the commentators babbled about him almost throwing his body in the field, he again crossed your mind. is she gone? if not, where might she be? what might she be doing? why am i even thinking about her in the first place?
that day was chaotic, but not for him. the after party was supposed to be fun, he was supposed to be celebrating for winning another cup, especially as the captain, but he wasn't. he felt like something was missing, which can never be filled by any solved physics problem, or any ball that hit the goal nets.
he missed you.
those two weeks were the best he's had in the past eighteen years of his life. the way you were clueless about technology or just simple things was one of the things he knew he'll never forget about you. he would sometimes pretend that you were tailing behind him as he walked, asking questions such as "are humans like this? like that?"
after what felt like forever, the tedious party has finally come to an end. he walked alone in the dark corridors despite of his fear of ghosts. he needed that time of solitude—which jay was genuinely worried about. he turned his head to look at starry sky, assuming that you might be in one of those twinkling balls of gas.
"you save me twice and then you leave?" he chucked in disbelief, proceeding to walk to the gates of the university. "what are you, really?"
"a human."
he tried to let out a shout, a scream—anything, but nothing came out of his mouth. that voice sounded utterly familiar. expecting the worst, he hesitantly turned his head to see something that put his whole world into a halt.
he saw you.
you still looked the same, except, your hair was shorter and dyed black. clad in your school's gym uniform along with a pair of sneakers, you stood in front of the boy you had longed to see in your return.
jake felt a mix of feelings—happiness, relief, and more curiosity. he had many questions, but he knew that those can wait. his favorite girl was finally in front of him.
his shocked expression transformed into a sad one as he saw a tear fall from your eye. it was the first time he saw you cry. "i can feel what humans feel now, jaeyoon. see? i'm crying!" you smile despite of your tears, almost choking on your words. "i gave up my previous life, my powers."
"you did?" he couldn't believe it either. is she really a human now? "how?"
"i've been given a new life. i now exist as a human. i am powerless, been given a new family and home. i'm having fun so far, jakey! i even watched you score that goal, but i was genuinely worried about your uniform, though, it's white as hell. but anyways, you play so well and i was about to jump off of my seat until—"
your rambling was stopped as jake cupped your cheeks and kissed you ever so lovingly, you were about to go weak in the knees in that spot, in that moment. his lips felt soft, pillowy, and welcoming against yours. the way he hummed didn't help with your excited heart, either. he felt so stellar in your arms. although you weren't able to read his thoughts anymore, you knew for sure that he, too, had waited for this very moment to happen.
you both pulled away, catching your breaths and laughing to yourselves. the euphoric lad then pressed your foreheads together, not wanting this moment to end.
"it's called a kiss, babe." he smiled, loving your reaction to the pet name. "i would've loved you if you were an alien, nonetheless."
the night continued on with you filling each other in for what happened in the past two months you were apart. he felt sad that you had to leave ebone and start a new life, and you were kind of angry at yourself for being the cause of his sadness.
you share another kiss under the night sky as he drops you off your house. bidding your goodbyes, you found yourself smiling as you'd see him again the next day.
he didn't know that he'd feel this much love for someone who was so out of this world, and in the best way possible.

“babe, can you get the dog shampoo for me please?” you ask as you turn on water hose to rinse the soap off of layla after the shower. he nods and runs off to the shelf to get layla’s soap. he returns with the bottle of shampoo that you had requested.
he grabbed all of your hair together to tie it in a low-ponytail, he used the elastic that was wrapped around his wrist. “thank you, jakey! do you want me to tie your hair too? it’s getting quite a bit long.” you ruffle his hair, raising strands of it to show how long it is. he shakes his head, and reaches out to kiss your cheek.
you both sat down on the stools, while jake wetted layla’s fur. you tried to pat her head to calm her down, she shivers. jake teasingly shifted the water hose’s direction to you, you dodge his sudden attack. “jake stop!” he chuckles and continues on wetting the fur. jake gives her a kiss on her nose, nuzzling his nose in hers after. you pump out three pumps of the shampoo, you emulsify the soap in your hands and rub on her bum first.
“should I turn off the hose?” He asks as he reaches out for the knob, you nod in response. he turns it off and helps you with the lathering of the soap. he slightly pokes your finger while you were rubbing the soap on her fur, you both chuckle. slowly making your way to her body, rubbing on her stomach and back.
“her stomach’s so warm.” he comments, you hum in response. he sighs, you haven’t said a single proper answer to him.
he cheekily turns on the hose and grabs the end, pointing it at you.
“huh? jake what are you- gah!” you cover your body with your hands as the cold water makes contact with your body, you pout in annoyance. you grab the end away from him and point it at him, he shields his body with a free arm.
“oh I see how it is!” he chuckles out, as he snatches the hose away from you again. he immediately points at your face as you run away from the area, he leaves the hose there. still running, he runs towards you and engulfs you.
damn, you soccer skills. you thought
he carries you and runs toward the hose, he puts you down but still has his arm around your waist. he points the hose directly on your face, you shriek, pain envelops your body. as water forces itself in your nose, “jake stop, it hurts!” you push him away running away from him, his face drops. knowing that he had harmed you even if it was a little bit, it was definitely something that he doesn’t want to ever do to you.
“does it actually hurt?” jake asks as he looks at you with full concern, you nod. he cups your cheeks and presses a kiss on your head, layla jumps out of her shower and goes near to the both of you, soap trailing behind her.
“i’m sorry about that.” he frowns and gives you a hug, layla whines in rejection.
layla rn : 🤨 hoomans what the fuck happened to my shower???
