i finally drew my goat, who i have a whole fic about if anyone’s interested. rhaena's headdress here was meant to be a reflection of dreamfyre, and i imagine visenya and maegor have had this one ready ever since she bonded with her.

today on sasa learns how to draw, i attempted a new style heavily inspired by one of my favourite artists @spiiicysoda !

I haven’t liked a majority of HOTD for its story changes and reducing women characters to shells of the figures they are even in historical contexts but not having Dreamfyre break from her chains and roar at Helaena’s death kind of feels like a dealbreaker to me…

And then all of the cliffhangers are just annoying.

Like, I am just adding that it made little sense to show her in Helaena’s dreams in episode 7 and then completely ignore her in the finale where Helaena dies.. as little as we have seen Dreamfyre, I would have much preferred that reaction than watching Caraxes chasing Silverwing and Vermithor flying after them at the end. You can’t even use CGI expenses as an excuse bc y’all obviously had enough for three dragons.. It’s so nonsensical

dragon-ladies of Old Valyria

I keep seeing other artists paint Old Valyria in white, black, and red (there's nothing wrong with that), but I find it lacks color. I took inspiration from my very limited knowledge of ancient Greece and the fact (which isn’t i don’t know about this) that humans have always incorporated color into their cultures. I also wanted to show the "diversity" of Old Valyria in the hair colors of the dragon ladies. For me, there's a varied spectrum of blonde, white, and silver.

It's all very approximate, but I hope you like my headcanon.
