One of the scripture rocks located in Brookville, Pennsylvania, engraved by Douglas Monroe Stahlman. He practiced faith healing which eventually lead to the death of his wife due to blood poisoning stemming from complications during the birth of Stahlman’s second child.

Stahlman was incarcerated but was later freed after being declared insane. He promptly returned to the woods of Pennsylvania, where he lived a hermetic life, engraving hundreds of boulders with scriptures and messages he believed he received from God.

This stone reads: “ISA 49:17-26 Thy children shall make haste. For I will contend with him. DEATH that contendeth with you.”
