In Mario Kart 7, Wario Shipyard contains a "Banana Bounce Trench" where all bananas thrown into it will bounce for up to a minute before disappearing.

This is due to the invisible floor of the trench being mistakenly designated as a wall in the code, and bananas being coded to bounce off walls. Normally a banana will only bounce off a wall once or twice before landing on the floor, but if the floor itself is defined as a wall, the banana will bounce indefinitely until it despawns.

It is likely that during the capturing of the new render, the developers were unable to get the Paragoomba in the exact same spot as it was before, so they opted to simply superimpose a picture of it in the hopes that this would not be noticeable.

In Super Mario 3D Land, performing a long jump and bouncing off of an enemy gives the playable character a speed boost.

When combined with a Super Star (which enhances speed) and the fact that enhanced speed can be built up even further when only touching the ground for one or two frames between jumps, this can be used as Kitsune Luigi to achieve immense speed and finish a level in a fraction of the regular time, as seen in the footage.

I shit you not, the remake of Kirby’s Return to Dreamland that came out in 2023 used this exact sound effect 3 TIMES. 2 of which weren’t part of the original fights that they’re used in.

So there’s at least one person at HAL that was absolutely infatuated with that sound effect.
