Explanation/ lore dump
It was so late when I wrote this it may not actually make sense to anyone else lol
Basic facts first!
Their name is Cassidy Maren (idk I tried to give them a very generic name that theoretically could be a cowboy because I don’t know I’m bad at names lol)
Tech enthusiast, both coding and mechnically- they love taking apart tech
- [ ] He/him, he/they
- [ ] Started out as a tech hobbyist, did repairs on Spamtommas despite it being illegal to without propper certification.(bc these things are used for literally everything)
- [ ] When doing these repairs he noticed some strange functionalities of the Spamtommas and began to more or less jail break them.
- [ ] Digimon are little more than urban legends but Cass found it strange how any traces of these so called legends were erased so quickly from the web
- [ ] Reasearch happens and bam they find out about digimon
- [ ] Many people call them crazy they feel alienated and draw more into escapism with things such as cowboy movies and tech, Ufonymon forms somewhat but Cass is able to transfer its data to a tamogatchi (????????) ( idk metaphor for masking or whatever)
- [ ] After some time of researching digimon they build up a notorious track record on the web for leaking general information (maybe they also use Ufonymon to hack since their in the digital space idk????)
- [ ] Eventually Cass stumbles upon the dark side of the digital world such as Klay’s businesses.
- [ ] Before they can leak this information to the authorities because Klay’s activities are too heinous for Cass to get behind Tactics forces raid his home.
- [ ] Klay gives an ultimatum of death or working for him and so Cass takes working for him.
- [ ] Sometime around this out of alienation, and fear Ufonymon escapes the tomogatchi. The digimon has the ability to transform into inconspicuous disk shaped objects as well as levitate. They’re not a very good fighter and are ment to embody Cass’ feelings of cowardice and indecision when things could have been fine if they had only made the decision to report clay sooner.)
- [ ] Klay just sees this as another opportunity to show Cass he’s passed the line and definitely can’t go back to a normal life now.
- [ ] Cass finds out about the information broker Maki and in a rare chance of freedom he manages to give her some leads to Klay’s actions via an overly complicated animal crossing knock off.
- [ ] Series events continue
- [ ] With Klay defeated Cass is left in Japan with no job or place to stay. the Japanese government or corporation creating Spamtommas(???) reaches out to them to help with digimon research.
- [ ] They still have some ability to function as a gray hat hacker but they are closer to a white hat hacker because what other options do they have right now.
- [ ] Eventually meets Glowing Dawn and finds out about the digimon dayare where they work on basically a storage unit server for digimon to go in and out of the digital world without having to have an ultimate make a portal that way the baby digimon can hide if ever found, reduce need for E pulse by residing in the digital world, or go in a stasis like state if so desired (kinda like a Pokemon pc).
Some concepts for a digimon oc, still working on evolution lines but main concept is tech cowboy and frutiger aero which I think is pretty fun. Might draw them more I’m really liking the horseshoe crab cowboy hat concept.
