Wtf wtf wtf that episode! How am I even supposed to go to sleep and then go to work tomorrow?!?! This was everything I expected it to be and more! And the ending (wtf that was what I was expecting to happen in the past but not right now in the present wtf?!?!)

Watching episode 1 of iwtv to prepare for season 3:

- Louis coming to the church says so much. He knows what he believes at the end of all things

- his confession. He should have gotten an Oscar. His sexual and gender insecurity in this speech breaks me. The way he is begging, it is everything. Every queer catholic has experienced something in the same vein as this, and so lestat’s reaction”how can you humiliate yourself like this” is so poignant

- the squeak of the priests shoe before Lestat chases him

- the click of lestat’s boots

- this skull punch wow every time

- for how race blind Lestat is later in the season, he is very adept at understanding it here. And so I understand why Louis gives in, in so many levels

- Sam and Jacob are the absolute best. These fucking icons. We are so blessed!

- “I love you, you are loved, we send it back together in a circle”. How can you not want that? No matter how toxic am outsider may view it, still this is everything humans want. To be seen and live and chosen

- the beauty of this scene bs the way Santiago bastardizes it

- the kiss is beautiful

Watching episode 1 of iwtv to prepare for season 3:

- Louis and Paul’s dance!! I tear up every time. The way they hype each other up!

- no no no, I don’t want to get to this part. Paul my love! This scene is masterfully done. The sunrise is such a beautiful color. The way their shots match and suits mismatch. “Daddy said I was gon look down on you for the rest of my days” I’m crying. Paul sitting all curled up and rubbing his hand on his hand. I can’t decide if lestat influenced Paul to jump or not, either way I still feel like Paul made this decision himself.

-Louis not recognizing immediately what was happening to Paul… the most realistically and also tragically obvious way things were going.

- Louis, the eldest, feeling like he is responsible for his baby kid’s death, and then his daughter’s death…

- Maman du lac, I hate her and also how can I blame her? Her baby is dead. Louis’ “watching the sun come up maman” kills me

- Lestat… why are you trying to deal with your situationship issues right now? Fuck off. Let Louis attend his brother’s funeral

- Grace my love, if only Louis could have lived well off of your grace alone

- Louis, babe, if only lily were stilly alive to tell you not to make drastic decisions during grief. He’s so as when he learned bout lily

Watching iwtv episode 1, s1 in preparation for season 3:

- Lestat I have never both sympathized and hated you while you were telling Paul of your religious education and subsequent abuse

- thank you Louis for finally setting a boundary

- “joychild” as what mamas dulac calls grace, so sweet

- that convo between louis and lestat, already lestat is saying against dishonesty, not understanding what Louis’ position is

- for all lestat’s manipulations, lupus still does choose to go into lestat’s house. I am annoyed by ppl who remove Louis’ agency. Yes he was manipulated, but he was still an adult man who was smart enough to make a decision and see manipulation (that is part of what makes Louis so interesting)

- lily calling louis “a beautiful man” 😭

- Lestat seducing Luis while Nicholas’ song 🎶 lays is diabolical

- the loustat s scene cracks me up every time. I laugh out loud every time and I hate myself for it but live the show for it, letting everyone know what this show is right away

- “I did what I had to to score” okay Daniel. Flash to him taking off his shirt asap. My bi boy is an icon

- the French kills me. I’m a teacher and my baby American kids have a better French accent than anyone in this show (exempting Madeline)

Watching iwtv s1 ep 1 in excitement for season 3:

- this random guy singing in french then saying “come now” in the most American accent. Now I am a French transplant, so I don’t know if that’s accurate, but I thought it was funny

- lestat’s bureaucrat joke, love it

- fucking hate fenwick, as is the intention, but still I feel so much rage

- tom is the guy who isn’t necessarily racist, but he is using racism to his advantage and that is just as bad. Fenwick is just uncomplicated-ly an asshole

- I live the time dilation thing vampires can do. It confuses me, but I love it nonetheless

- loustat courted for MONTHS! They did fall in LOVE (despite all the shit that happens later)

- “updated his wardrobe” lestat looks a little too much like tom

- grace my love “French white” 😭😭 as a French white, grace don’t give us any more leeway than you do American whites. We are also colonialist bastards

- Louis and grace are the best siblings ever

- Paul my love, I’m so sorry nobody treats you seriously. You were the only one who could see the truth

Watching iwtv ep 1 in excitement for season 3, pt 2:

- Paul my sweet love

- Louis’ franglish is the best French on this show (sorry Sam. Assad you are okay. Obviously Roxanne was a sensation, thank god for her French because she is the only one I can truly understand.)

- the sibling love between Paul and Louis! 😭 I love them. Paul being so insistent on Matthias I love Paul. And Matthias, he’s the pinky priest I trust didn’t like kids too much

- “miss lily is on the terrace” that FLAT delivery. Love it 😂

- lily doesn’t know much what lestat is saying cause his french is worse than the Québécois’ french 😭 sorry sam

- Sam’s french accent when speaking English is phenomenal though

- tom cruise never stood a chance against Sam Reid

-this dick measuring contest between Louis and lestat is so funny because if is so pointless

Watching iwtv episode 1 in excitement for season 3 (pt 1):

- this show starts incredibly. The shaking hands, the pill bottles, the pink kids’ toys… it tells us so much about Daniel that I feel like we still don’t know in detail about Daniel as of season 2

- “your book doesn’t mention me” it does!! 😭 it does!

- Armand in soft focus in the background!!!!

- Everyone is literally so incredible in this. I keep typing something like “Eric is so incredible” “Jacob is so incredible” “Assad is so incredible”. I could save time by just saying everyone is bringing their a game.

- the set for NOLA!! Beautiful!

- the way Louis uses “religious” language to describe his business (“righteous”) is so good. The dichotomy between his language and the realities of the prostitution of women (specifically women of color, and even disabled women) is so nuanced and I don’t see enough people talking about it

- Louis’ code switching makes me want to cry
