Mpc 2000xl program instructions / coordinated directional relationships / visual references to aid my subconsciousness decisions while playing live... This photo was taken the night before Marco and i opened for Matmos at Mighty Mighty in Wellington back on the 27th of January 2014. These are visually orientated cues noted on the rubber pads of the Mpc, to trigger impulsive emotive situational responses to the surrounding performing space.

*Book review of " Eco Colour " by India Flint. / Published 2008.
Daym!
The use of synthetic pigments can really do some serious damage to the brain over a long period of time, especially if your not equipped with the right oxygen mask.
Synthetic acrylics / oil paints are so expensive these days and have such a subtle / still detrimental effect on our fragile environment. This is so bewildering that we're not utilizing the natural botanic options more often, considering that they surround us all year round.
Here India Flint extensively explores the beautiful fluid alchemy of organic dyes and provides extensive examples / proof of her experimentation with running pigments.
India's imagination and Eco awareness is documented tastefully with large enticing images, that captivate the imagination though clever use of grounding texture.
The weirdest example was the screen prints extracted from the juices of raw onions, but that is just my thought, and i don't think it's a wise idea to cry and paint at the same time...
I highly recommend this book, it has slowly and surely inspired me over the years to cut down my use of toxins to 50%, adapting more natural substances into my paintings...
However, there is the risk of rapid natural fading ect with the use of natural dyes , and the use of synthetic protection to your work still exists as the most obvious preventative, to keeping your tones as vibrant as possible.
This book has always been an incredible guide, recommended by my younger sister Juliet Crane , while she was studying industrial scale screen printing at uni.
Time to make that change!
Time to find the safest place to wash away the oil....
Carmen's bedroom room 1/3....It's going to be another late night...
Pictured here working on " No Love Lost " 1100x500mm original piece on waterproof vinyl... This is intended to be given to Lana Del Rey, exhibited from Sienna Reid's Gallery in New York in i can save enough from working at Weta Workshop this Autumn.... Sienna Reid is a New York based Contemporary / Portraiture Artist and Friend... We are looking at the inscription stage, pt 2/3, peripherally using the eye to promote the subtle embossed edges to reach the potential of the surrounding natural light sources. I'm painting backwards / using a reverse / inverted rendering mentality, transposing slowly from right to left 45 degrees down the canvas in a south west direction / in relation to these four linear / non linear polar references... I will be extenuating these specific planes with traces of titanium white oil paint, which will be repeated from right to left with half the opacity of a tryrian tone of purple, which i feel balances the subtle / opaque water based mix of emerald / cyan tones... Pictured here at process stage 5/10, with each number representing a blanket of questions / considerations of their own. This painting consists of 30% acrylic, 30% oil, 30% fabric dye and 10% Indian ink mixed with a toxic paint removing agent. This was initially painted / sketched back in December of 2010 in Upper Moutere, New Zealand. This painting has taken nearly four and a half years to fulfill...
