The Howling Ridge on Carrauntoohil in Ireland. We spent a week in Ireland doing some hill walking and the weather cleared allowing us to climb this beautiful wind carved ridge. We had originally planned to cycle between the 3000ft summits but plans changed after injury. It was still good to see new mountains and had a great time camping and hitch hiking! It rains a lot but was good to see the gear works!

Summary of blog
The driving force behind this blog was leaving my job to spend a summer in the Alps. I am 21 and can't help but think there is more to life than earning money for someone else and 5 weeks holiday, working around a schedule someone else has given you. I am a mountaineer. An amateur one at that, with the ambition of becoming a Mountain Guide. I feel a long way away from this goal at the moment and have a lot to learn! However I plan to spend my time working toward this goal one bit at a time. The aims of this blog are partly so that I may see myself develop as a climber, but also to inspire others to get out and live their own lives whatever their passions. My passion is the Mountains, but also capturing them through writing and photographs. It is hard to explain to somebody, particularly a non-climber, the challenge of a climb as the difficulties are relative, but I want to be able to communicate the emotions I feel with others. The Mountains offer more to the climber than just a way to the top. We learn more about ourselves than we do about the mountains we are climbing. If you are reading this I hope you enjoy my blog and I will keep you posted!
