Hunt through time

The vampire was running from Mina. It was a young one that was weakened. He hissed at her trying to throw the hunter off his trail. They were in the Scottish Highlands remote where no one was around.

There was a circle of standing stones. He ran into the circle, the sun was rising and he could feel the burning effect.

Mina wrapped her arms tightly around herself, "Your Uncle is very conversational. He was made aware your men found me fighting a beast that set upon me and nearly came after then, yes?"

Mina was quiet, she knew easily enough how to avoid soldiers, she'd been doing that most of her career. It was often best to clear a wide berth over any sort of man that was on foreign soil, even if they did share a nationality. If they got any sort of freedom they often abused it.

"I'd just need a map," she told him, "And I'm not worried about redcoats. Easy enugh to see and avoid. I can handle myself."

Mina had met loads worse than some human who liked to torture, that was an easy weekend for her.

"So then what fate will your uncle decide for me then?" she asked tiredly.

Mina was starting to wish she let the vampire eat them for all the bother they were being.

Jamie smiled softly. “Whatever it is I will keep yer safe. My uncle will want ter make sure yer aren’a spy. He cannae trust any stranger.”

But Mina was most stubborn, "How long must I stay? What does it take to convince someone I am merely a traveler but no threat."

Because he'd tried to get her drunk and get answers out of her but Mina could drink plenty under the table. She'd not budged from her story
