Hello, and welcome to the Video Game Dog Bracket!
Do you like dogs? Do you like video games? Do you like dogs from video games? If yes, then this is the tournament for you!
I’ve been wanting to host my own bracket for a while now - ever since I submitted a character to one of them a few months back, swore to myself I wouldn’t get invested in the results, but then ended up doing just that. Thanks a ton to @artificialkids-2k23-official, without whom this bracket wouldn’t exist!
The rules for submission are fairly straightforward, but I’ll list them here anyway.
An obvious one, but all characters submitted must be dogs, wolves, or mythical creatures that are canine in nature (i.e. Cerberus or a dog-like Pokémon). Foxes are on thin ice.
Anthropomorphic dogs are okay.
Characters must have originated from a video game or visual novel. If they appear in a game, but it’s an adaptation of a movie, for example, they won’t be counted.
Named characters are preferred and will be given priority. I’m not saying that you can’t submit Granbull or every Nintendog, but in the case that there are more submissions than bracket spaces, they probably won’t make it in.
Please only submit one character at a time. The form is open to multiple responses per person, so you can submit as many characters as you like. (Just be reasonable with it and don’t send the same one over and over again?)
Currently, the plan is for submissions to close on June 9th, but this may be subject to change based on the amount of traction this bracket gets.

Henson is already winning but for posterity sake here's my favorite anecdote abt him
"One Christmas season, Henson had approached Oz backstage during the season the Muppets were featured on Saturday Night Live. “It was just prior to dress rehearsal and the other guys had gone off to lunch. Jim and I were just hanging around the halls. He came up with a camera and Jim said in his quiet, enthusiastic way, ‘Frank, I need to go in a dressing room with you . . . and if you could take off all your clothes, I could take a picture of you naked.’
“I said, ‘Whoa! What?’
“And he said, ‘I really need to take a picture of you naked.’
“We discussed this for a while . . . and I said, ‘All right.’ So we went into the dressing room and I took off all my clothes, buck naked. Locked the door, of course. And he said, ‘Now pose. Put your hands over your genitals,’ which I was glad to do. He said, ‘Bend over [forward] and look into the camera in a state of shock,’ which was not difficult at that time. So I bent over and he took some photos of me. I got dressed and we did the show.”
Some days later Oz received a sculpted wall hanging that was entitled Bert in Self-Contemplation. It featured Bert with his arms holding a ledge filled with tiny toy Berts and photo miniatures of Henson Workshop employees. Henson had painted layers on the artwork, “like earth striations, which I gather were like the layers of Bert’s mind, his soul,” Oz said, “and within those layers he painted beautiful textures.” When he picked it up to admire it, Oz noticed that Bert’s pupils had been cut out, offering an invitation to look through, like a hole in a fence. “You look inside Bert’s brain . . . and there I am, naked,” Oz said. “I knew he had a good reason.”

Jacket 3: I Don’t Have A Funny Name For This One: John Variants Time Tho
Basic rules:
1. No real people, fictional John variants only please. Please only submit fictional characters, I won’t be accepting for example, concepts or place names.
2. The form will remain open until 1pm CST on June 2nd.
3. Please only submit each variant once and only one variant per form.
4. I’m gonna accept pretty much anyone. If you can make the argument to me that it is in fact a John variant, there will be a place for it in the form, but I’ll make the final call.
4A. If I get enough of certain variants, I will break the bracket down into more specific variants (ex. maybe a Jon bracket, maybe a Johnny bracket), this will depend on numbers of submissions.
5. The bracket will be 32 variants max, as last time. This time my One Mod Blorbo automatically in is Ianto Jones (Torchwood). Please do feel free to nominate him though as the number of nominations will determine the seeding.
6. It will still be mandatory to give a reason why you’re nominating your variant. This is both to make sure no one spams, and because I want to know your reason!
