Personal Passbook Account
They say - “There’s always a first time.” and yes this is my first time to open a personal passbook savings account. The prior passbook account we opened was a few days ago which is a joint account (which will be used for future plans).
Honestly, I’m not fond of having a passbook account due to the inconvenience of either withdrawing or depositing money into the account itself. But that is not the case now-a-days - with the help of online banking. The downside I saw in ATM accounts is the daily withdrawal limit and additional bank charge if getting money over-the-counter.
So what made me decide to open a personal passbook savings account?
First reason is saving money, since it is not very much accessible chances of getting money out of it is not as easy as having an ATM plastic card in the wallet so saving money is more feasible. :)
Second, serves as a different container, working as a freelance / virtual assistant we receive payouts via online money transfer. I personally am using (UnionBank EON’s) debit card as my receiving end. Since it is a debit card, it would be easy to swipe or get money from it. Not so good if I wanted to save money for the future.
Third, debit card for online purchases - I am hesitant in using credit card to be linked in my online profile such as in Apple AppStore or Google Play. I opt to use my debit card on cases such as purchasing an app from the app-stores. It would be easy to control spending rather than paying borrowed money.
Fourth, security - UnionBank EON debit card is linked online. Chances are if your online account has been compromised you may not want to imagine what could happen to your hard earned money. So it would be better to be safe than sorry.
I do suggest you open a passbook account with the bank you already have an account with. It would be much easier as your previous requirements can be used for verification. Less questions from the bank officers and you’ll get out of the bank in no-time.
I hope this passbook account will serve my purpose, to save money because of the inconvenience of getting money out of it and security, since this account will not be linked online.
Happy saving everyone!
Ending one & starting another...
June 2015. Relationships are not all happy moments, there are struggles and you know when it is time to let go - when it is not healthy anymore for the both of you. It has been a challenging 10 years for us. There were ups and downs and the time she left without saying anything, it was like bursting a bubble without notice. I did had a difficult time accepting that part, but I know I must for my own sake.
I may have fall-out of love in the process due to some things we don’t agree and we don’t share the same priorities at this stage in life. I recognized my shortcomings and knew it was not good for our growth and personal development. So there is no other option but to let go of each other so we can explore more on ourselves and find our own true happiness.
PH at that same time is celebrating its independence, so are we. I decided to visit this place, Rizal Park Manila, to be reminded that every ending has a new beginning and we always start at some point, zero.
Standing in front of this obelisk was one of a kind feeling. Mixed emotions with a sigh of relief. It was the start of acceptance that a long chapter of my life has ended and I will be starting a new one, a new journey and a paradigm shift.
I am not much of a spontaneous kind of person especially in the topic of getting out of the house for a few days, but this travel or vacation if you call it so was the start. It was not really planned, you can say so because I asked for a 10-days vacation from my employer just 2 days prior to my flight. I’ve been talking to a friend who arranged the itinerary just 4 days and she had a difficult time finding a cost effective plan with the best tour package as possible - I couldn’t thank her enough for not letting me down. :)
Manila was just the starting line, I will be in more places which I’ve never been to. I might be lost from time to time but this will be the site I will be sharing my stories and the journey I will be having. I am happy I took this chance, but I am more happy because of the people who helped me get back on my feet.
I am excited to share my destination after Manila, but I will be back here before going back to Davao. I would be glad if you follow me on my next post!
GOD bless and have a great day/night!
